Goodmorning!

Ahhhh 4 seasons! We haz them! Truly truly all four. I love it. Except when we don't get rain all summer and the 40mph sustained winds kick up a DUST STORM! Happened last night in Oklahoma and blew it's way here. Walked outside after work and immediately got dust in my eyes and throat, ugh.

You know, I have been listening to people talk about their weather this fall.  It confirms my long-standing belief that TEXAS has the best year round weather for training.  You can run and ride most of the year outdoors.  There are lots of lakes for open water swimming.  My daughter wants to swim this weekend at the lake in a wetsuit.  It is possible.  We will bike in the beautiful fall color too.

Don't tell all the Yankees. It is our little secret down here.

TW

Fixed that....

I've asked Tony more than once if his company has locations warmer climates...  I'm a wimp when it comes to cold, wet weather.

Bloomberg News Atlanta Bureau, it's right in the heart of Midtown.

Maybe he should be made aware of such things...

A few pics of the dust bowl yesterday.

I would not mind a warmer climate either (hence applying to jobs in FL and AZ) but I also like bundling up in scarves and boots and such. Or maybe I just like shopping

i didn't own a real coat and wore flip flops most of the year there.  it was wonderful.  occasionally at night you needed a hoodie or light jacket.  it was more important to have a $1 bill for the toll, bathing suit and beach chair in the car so that you could go to the beach at any time.  the weather, pretty beach, and the flatness, are why IMFL is the leader on my IM hit list.

i will admit, fall/winter clothes are FAR more fun than summer clothes.  i loved getting out my boots and sweaters last weekend!

oh, that does sound perfect!  I'm sooo over northern winters.

If I could find a way to do it, Miami is as far north as I'd ever live again.

We have one weather ....hot. I want seasons. I want cold. Snow. Water.

TJ, we have four seasons.  Winter is varied, though.  It gets cold sometimes but every now and again we have a beautiful sunny day in January that you can ride or play tennis in just a long sleeve.  Snow is rare and doesn't last long.  I am not a big fan of snow.  We have hills and trees and plenty of rain.  I like the green hills.

Brad, there are parts of Texas that are pretty bleak -- hot, dry, and really flat.  I don't know about McKinney but I think I'll stand pat on my pick.

But it's humid. I can't do humidity. Anything over 10 percent and a get cranky. Too much cleavage sweat.

We do have humidity.  But, the humidity and the green go together.  I like the green.  There are parts of the Smokies just east of Oak Ridge that get 100" of rain a year.  It is a temperate rain forest and has the highest biodiversity in the temperate zone.

I do enjoy boots (I LOVE my red stiletto boots) and SOME winter clothing, but shopping can also be done on summer dresses, shorts, sandals, bikinis, flip flops, skirts...

Man, I really need to be able to work soon so that I can go shopping!

The only offices in CA are one in San Fran (which I don't really consider a 'warm' climate) and LA.  And I have NO desire to live in LA... if only they had one in San Diego!

Trust me. You'll get to do that in AZ and FL, just not as often

More often in AZ, because temps change a lot from daytime to night. In FL, only when a cold front comes through...

I was in Crystal River FL for about 6 months one year for work.  January was coolish and my apartment had no heat.  That was not fun. But then in February it was spring.  I loved it.  March was great.  When April hit, the mosquitoes and bugs returned.  It became less fun.  I could see seasonal living in Florida.

We have a condo in Daytona.  Sometime before I die, I want to spend Speed Week, Bike (motorcycle) Week and then the Spring Break weeks in Daytona.  I will be a geezer dood walking around with my chin on my chest saying golly-gee-whiz.

It's pretty much perfect here as far as weather goes!   Lows in the winter of 50 and highs in the summer of 85 (at least at the coastal areas where I live).  It probably rains 20-30 days per year, but our rain is nothing like those other downpours you see in other parts of the country.

The downside is the cost of living is crazy high!  I can't imagine it's much worse than Chicago, but it is pretty bad.  We call it the sunshine tax.

Two daughters have spent significant time in CA.  One is still there.  I like to visit.  I could see living there too.  I can turn off the accent.  I wouldn't give myself away.

My house in Ft Lauderdale had no heat - but it did have a working fireplace. There were a few super-chilly nights, but the dog generally crawled into bed to share warmth, too.

Crystal River is just north of Tampa.  It is known for the manatees that come up to the springs in the Crystal River.  There were mosquitoes and some tiny no-see-um bug that would just cover any exposed skin.  People actual had netting around their pools.
