I lost my Fitbit back in February (did not even have 2 months) and I was thinking about replacing, but now I am not sure. I already have mine setup and am wearing it now. I guess if you were concerned though you could set up a dummy email account and provide a fake name for registration. Now I wish I'd have thought of that yesterday. :-/ |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I need to vent for a minute. Keri is playing softball for a team that is 2.7 miles from our house. This is only the second year for this organization, but that's ok. Last year their teams had cotton short sleeve shirts to wear for their jerseys. When I registered Keri I offered the president of the organization $500 to use for nicer shirts for the girls. She was rather unpleasant, but basically didnt' want my money. The girls got their shirts on Tuesday night, Keri wasn't there, and they're ugly grey cotton t-shirts. That just really frustrates me. There are only 4 teams in the organization, my $500 plus whatever they spent on these things could have bought the girls nicer shirts. Why do people have to be like that?

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() On a better note... Keri had basketball practice on Tuesday. Donnie said she looked REALLY good. She was playing up with the 5th graders, who she will play with next year. Donnie said she hung right in with the best players like she'd been playing with them all year. I know the coach she has, and will have next season. She's tough, but she knows what she's doing, and she wants the girls to win. She doesn't care who your parents are, or who her kid is, the best girls are on the court. We actually think Keri breaking her arm made her a better shooter in basketball. She had to get away from the 2-handed throw the ball towards the hoop thing that she picked up last year, and actually shoot the ball with 1 hand like she is supposed to. NO MORE BROKEN ARMS THOUGH! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Morning Ghoulies. Just a quick HI before I leave for the day. Teaching the last course for the year. Of course, the day is supposed to be beautiful and sunny and I'll be inside all day. Hmmmmm. Have fantabulous days! Ann, good news about Keri and the basketball shooting! She is a natural athlete. I am not too worried about my "data" being snatched. There isn't that much to it, really. I guess if you log every detail of your life, but steps and sleep patterns isn't telling a whole lot. Especially with the error involved. I am liking the info I am getting so far. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() kns57 - 2013-05-08 6:14 PM Hello Ghoulies. I've got a bit of catching up to do. Got on the treadmill the other night and at a mile it slipped and about threw me off. We just had it worked on for that problem. I'm not a happy camper because they charge $100 just to come to your house and that does not count parts, etc. Grrrr. Last time they came and charged the $100 and were there 5 minutes to tell me they would have to order a part. Then when the part came in they charged me another $100 to come back out to install it along with the cost of the part. And now it is doing the same thing, but it is after their 30 day warranty. Problem is they are about the only ones out there. That's why they can get away with it. GRRRRRRR! It has been an awful week at work. I really wish there were some jobs that would open up nearby that I could apply for. I am getting really frustrated. Had to reprimand my Assistant Branch Manager. Had to reprimand and warn one of my staff. She was late 4 times in 5 days. She has been late 20 times in the last 6 months. Now I have another staff that we think might be on drugs, drunk or has a health issue. How do you figure that one out. We don't do drug testing. Wish we did. I have three things noted for her in the past three days and I have a customer who is very upset due to this staff person. On a bright note, I am looking forward to the Electric Run this Saturday evening. I plan on taking pictures and will post if any come out good. Kendra I've got nothing. Sounds like a bunch of bull with the treadmill. If they came out and you paid the service fee, but they didn't have the part that isn't your fault, and you shouldn't have to pay it again. For that kind of money you could buy a new treadmill. What are the procedures for firing employees? Do you have that power? It is hard to find good help, and it sounds like right now you don't have it. Being late that many times is just irresponsible. As for the possible drug use. Ok, you don't drug test on a regular basis, but if you went to your boss and said you thought there was a problem do you think it could be done on an as needed basis? I may be wrong but I would think having someone on drugs, or drinking at work, especially when they have access to the public, and more importantly kids, would be a bad thing. Want me to bring the butter sock and come down and straighten things out? |

MotoQueen ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ironannekidd - 2013-05-09 8:37 AM Thanks Ann. Yes, I can fire, but I have to have it well documented so we are in that process right now. For the person who is late, I had to light the fire under my other supervisors who were not telling me it was happening so frequently. Now all staff have been informed that they are expected to talk to a supervisor when they call to say they are going to be late. And then the supervisors have been instructed to email the ABM and myself as to who, how long and why. I will have a good record then. And if the supervisors don't do this, then they will get written up. I'm on the warpath.kns57 - 2013-05-08 6:14 PM Hello Ghoulies. I've got a bit of catching up to do. Want me to bring the butter sock and come down and straighten things out? I have a voice mail into the director of HR to find out what we can do regarding the other situation. It's hard when you are part of a "government" agency, all the rules and regulations you have to follow. I think this is why there are so many complaints from people who have dealt with employees of local, state and federal governments. Sometimes it is so hard to pull together all that you need and managers get lazy. Not this one. I'm sticking to my guns. I may be unpopular around here for a while, but then again, coworkers have to pick up the slack when someone is not here when they are supposed to. So I'm doing everyone a favor. |

MotoQueen ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ann, bummer about the shirts. I don't know why some people are that way unless they already had a contract in place that they could not break. Dull grey for girls. Stupid. Ann again, and I like that Keri is doing so well and that her broken arm has healed and she is doing well with the basketball. She is a bright star. Robin, sorry you have to teach inside on such a wonderful day. Go outside for your breaks. |

She was wearing an elastic support on her wrist when playing softball. She asked me the other day if she still had to wear it, she said she was fine without it. She's been batting, and catching, and hasn't once said, or looked like it hurt. I'm glad it healed so well, and so quickly. |

The President of the league (the chick who bought the ugly shirts) comes to home games, but not away games. We are going to buy the girls shirts for away games. Nice shirts. He said all of the parents were annoyed when they saw them. Next year the girls move up and are going to play in tournaments. He said they already decided that we'd buy our own uniforms, and if the league wanted to reimburse us towards them that would be fine. He doesn't want to have the girls going to play in tournaments in ugly cotton t-shirts. |

The message will be loud and clear that parents and players are unhappy with what they received. |
