I wasn't annoyed by the kids. They were minding their own business playing. I was in the middle lane and some old dude in a speedo gets in and shares with me. The ladder lane was open. It just gets on my nerves that a "WIDE" swimmer will insist on sharing when there is a free lane. I resorted to my two year old behaviour by kicking excessively while passing him and flip turning close to his face if he was on the wall while I approached. (In a very whiny tone) I was there first! OK. Rant over. Thanks for asking. I do have a window. I think that might actually be making it worse! I really want to get out and go for a run, but I should do some work first. Did you have a hard time doing your pool workout with all of the extra kids in there? Was the guy just wanting to share a lane because there was a fit female triathlete swimming in it? I think so... Guys...they're all pigs! haha this just made my morning.... PIGS PIGS PIGS!!!!! Nice to see ya Sal! Sorry about the idiot at the pool Pam! (happens to me a lot when I go swimming) |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Nibbs XIV I'm whooped--spent all afternoon at the local bridal shop helping my DD's pick out junior bridesmaids dresses for my nieces wedding. I think between them they tried on about 1/3 of the store content for the design line that contained "cornflower blue". Now we have more questions and my niece is really bad about returning calls/emails so I have to go through my sister (the one I can't stand--ugh) R is down to 2 choices, C has hers picked out. I did get a power nap in while R was taking some placement test for one of the specialty centers this afternoon. It was wonderful (too short because C kept interrupting me, but wonderful) Edited by zipp1 2008-02-18 4:53 PM |

The bride is not the most popular girl, rather dorky and she's marrying a guy who is bipolar so it's kind of a big loser fest bride/groom. I'm not looking forward to this wedding... |

Wow...that sounds like a blast. Yeah. I hope the groom is on one of his "high" days for the wedding. Should be enthusiastic. Maybe that's why the bride is rather dorky. Her mom has given her no taste, either. We're going to a wedding in June. My hubby's cousin's daughter's wedding. They were seriously considering getting married in overalls. Somehow I don't think either the bride or the groom are going into this expecting it to be their ONLY marriage. sigh |

Has no clue that one person in a tea length dress with everyone else in long dresses will look stupid and just giggled like an idiot when I was trying to ask questions. Mother of the bride just wanted to make sure I wasn't mad!!!! I finally told them to just LOOK at the web pictures I sent up and let me know if they like these choices BEFORE I go plunk down a couple hundred bucks on dresses my kids will never wear again. I'm going to have to pack ALL my training stuff to go up there for this--just for the sanity break of it all (not to mention it will be about 8 weeks before my OLY in Sept) |

(Those who live in Nibbinsville are Nibbies, right?) Organza is different from Taffeta? Hm, who knew. Maybe the Bride and her mother just don't care about these kind of details? Which means - find some dresses that look ok on your kids, and just go with it.... Or else, are there OTHER kids involved in this? If so, why not just contact the parents of these kids, and work out the details among yourselves? At least it would be consistent that way. ('Cause I think that all that's going to happen if you try dealing with the Bride and Mom is that you're going to raise your own blood pressure. But not much else will be accomplished.... ) Edited by D001 2008-02-18 8:10 PM |

(Assuming she was working as a teller, or something.) Yes. She is not dumb, just naive. She could have gone to a nice, four year school on a scholarship, but she didn't want to leave her mama. So she went to a community college for a year and got a job as a teller at a bank. Not bad. Education while earning some money and insurance. Then she meets Mr. Loser who has her move into his trailer and here we are with the June wedding date. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Nibbs XIV My younger sister's kids are flower girl and junior usher, they live in the Netherlands. My nephew has to wear a tux and the little niece is probably getting away with a cutesy little girl dress. My kids, being tweenagers, think they should look like regular bridesmaids and not junior ones. R won't wear the dress again because she has to wear the cornflower blue (if it were almost any shade of purple she'd be thrilled) C might wear the dress again for a school formal but her school has very strict dress codes for dances: if you can't wear the style to school don't wear it to a dance. In fact, the permission slips for last weeks valentines dance said the parents had to wait for their kids to be checked for appropriateness of attire before they could leave when dropping the students off. Overalls though?? That's a new one on me--but I've heard of people getting married on the beach in their bathing suits so I guess anything is fair game to some people... |
