LazyMarathoner - 2008-09-08 1:01 PM I signed up for IMWI this morning, woo hoo! Maybe that will motivate me to get off my a$$ today and do some training. Although I am DEAD TIRED from my weekend.

Congratulations!  You do get one day to rest, though.  After that we'll make you start training again.

Yeah, when are they gonna approve the 'Corporate Nap-Time Policy' around here? Slackers...

Hey, I'm a grad student.  Sleeping on the job is just part of my job description.

I remember......waking up with my face in a textbook...and having to wipe the 'sleep drool' off...

Either that or keyboard imprints on your face....

Thank god, because I sat around in my pjs and ate a cookie instead of running. It's cold and raining and I'm suffering from IM hangover. Back at it tomorrow...

BTW, the cookie I had was unreal. I've had at least 5 this week. It's a fudgy chocolate with chocolate chips and little grains of sea salt on the top. Sooooooo good....

Here's a pic of lisac957 (right) and I (left) in the women's T2 changing tent. It was a lot of fun to spend the day with BTers.

Who are these skinny little things?  I think my leg is bigger than either one of them.

Not only that, but young.  I'm sure adding up their ages would about equal mine...Brian, I'm truly surprised you didn't make a comment about the women's changing tent...

Oh the flattery, but it must have been the cow t-shirt doing more justice than life I'm wasting away from not training

I'm truly relieved that 33 is considered really young! Sparco, you don't happen to be 63, do you? Because that's what our collective age would be

Oh...nevermind...underestimated by a collective 20 years...

Brian, you want to take this one?

There are stories to be told about the changing tent, but out of respect for the female athletes, I'll take them to my grave. Well, except for the ones that I shared with the BT crew over drinks last night

I always pictured the changing tents as truly tents - grass floor and flapping walls. That looks a bit more sturdy.

It consists of spending all day, every day at the expo and volunteering, then going out the night before the IM for drinks and staying out 'til 1am, then getting up at 5, then having an 18 hour day filled with race spectating, BT meet ups, volunteering, more race spectating and more BT meet ups, then going to sleep at 2am and getting up at 7 to go sign up! But it was a blast. I think I'll feel a little worse next year

They usually are, and sometimes muddy and nasty. But the transition is inside Monona Terrace at IMWI so it's a bit unusual. Since I spent the day on my knees, I was pretty thankful for this.
