The nasties sent for reinforcements while I was sleeping.  I also woke myself up sleep talking-bad dreams, bleck.  I'm just glad I was only talking rather than hollering.

Can anyone be in a mentor group?  not just for the paying folk?  That would be great fun and maybe beneficial as well.

Yep.  It started about two years ago to help out the people who join right after New Year's and see if we can get more of the people to stay by being part of a small group.  The big forums can be kind of intimidating to ask beginner questions, so the mentor groups are kind of nice.  But, yes, anyone can join.

Maneesh sent me a link to a Make magazine article featuring Sustainable Penguins.

It turns out that the gal who submitted the article is a friend that I haven't been in touch with. I just tracked her down on facebook. Check out the concept sketch for the Woodland Park Zoo's new energy conserving Humboldt penguin exhibit.   It uses natural filtration and geothermal energy to heat/cool the penguins water.

Does becoming a mentor = headache relief?

Hope you feel better...

No.  The headache is why I have yet to do it.  Or the computer work I'm supposed to do.  Computer screens and fluorescent lights are evil.

Yes, I'm super excited!

Plus Daniel is in Seattle.  If we don't end scheduling a meet, there is a pretty good chance that we would run into each other at an event.

I would say she is, but that will make it even more important for her to have a supportive group to talk to.

I should have finished my thought that since she is a real live mentor than I would just sign up as a mentee and get the additional support. So we are on the same wavelenght Mel.

They always have a few 24-7 campus libraries during finals week.  I guess you can always count on students procrastinating as long as possible, leaving overnight cram sessions as the only option left.

I guess I am... never thought about it that way... I kind of saw it more as part organising, part facilitating with a little bit of motivation and support thrown in...

As a college student I was never able to stay up all night studying. I would have been useless the next day. Now though, I seem to have sleepless nights all the time and still function. Amazing.
