How Rude! That happens to me, my pool will closed for some time later in the month, but I have never done one of these before and I am a new swimmer, so excuse me for underestimating. I'll add on a few thousand yards if it will keep you from crying! I haven't come close to being rude. However, I understand the trouble that you'll be going through since my pool place closes tonight. I won't make my 10 sessions, so will have to fanagle a couple of very cold OWS outings. BTW - I'm "Philthy". Don't take it personal. Just keep talking da schmack. Anyone else wants to throw out that I was "crying", I'll be MORE than happy to take ya on the IM Moo bike course with me for a couple of loops, and then a 10 mile BRICK afterwards, at my pace. Any takers? I know K would take me up on this when she gets here. And, I'm sure she'll kick my azz. Woncha, K? |

You girls just continue to talk about cycling and running and dolls and cooking and sewing and... The boys will be swimming while you do that. (btw - 4000 yds???? nice!) The only dolls we'll be talking about here are the voodoo dolls of the boys team that we'll be filling with the pins ... Geez, who woulda thought that someone with stiletto boots would carry pins? |

And don't be jealous Walt that we're just more naturally equipped for multitasking. We understand men have underdeveloped, tiny little brains and can't keep up. But we still love you We don't need to take that verbal abuse. Our brains are highly developed. We're all about multi-tasking, focus, attention, ....oh wow...did you see that hottie that just walked by?!!...what was I saying? |

I have a non swim related question and since this is a forum for girls, I'm hoping for a little advice. I've been searching for a new saddle. I have the Terry Damselfly and it's about as pleasant as riding on a rock. I have a century on Sunday so I'm really wanting to switch it out to spare myself some pain. In the shortness of time and availability, I have a choice of : Adamo, Profile Tri Stryke, Fizik Vitesse. The LBS says Adamo, and a lot of BTers here too, but it's very wide, even in the "nose" and I have problems with wide saddles. Plus I hear it takes awhile to acclimate so a Century sunday may not be ideal. I don't mind the firmness overall of the Damselfly, it's just not a good saddle in general. I think a bit more padding would be nice, but not all the way to squishy. I'll likely have this one as an interim and find my permanent saddle after the century. So for the future search, I'm thinking the Blackwell Flow or the V Flow. Anyone have experience with any of these at all? Thanks! I really wouldn't advise doing a century on a saddle you've never ridden. Instead of switching the saddle right now can you use shorts with more padding (although I also don't recommend trying that for the first time on a century either)? I have a metric century coming up in June and will be trying out some different saddle/shorts combos over the next few weekends. I have to agree, i wouldn't take on a new saddle for a C-ride. I have a Serfas saddle. It's my second one and I got it shortly after I bought my bike last year. I haven't tried it but some of my friends swear by the chamois butter. FWIW. Good luck in your ride. |

Yep, I realize it's not conventionally wise but my rides are so long on the weekends anyway that now is as good a time as any. And my current saddle causes severe hamstring pain and pain that radiates all the way to my ankle so anything is a better option at this point. |

Elite 3494 Renton, Washington | Subject: RE: GIRLS TEAM THREAD May Swim Challenge On saddles. I bought a TRI SADDLE at REI for about $50 on sale and I just LURVE it. It has special cushioning where it's required and I've had NO problems with it. I've done a max ride of 40 on it though but it was such a comfortable ride.
I might have to do a recovery swim for my swim yesterday. My legs more than anything are a little sore. Course I used fins yesterday. |

FWIW. Good luck in your ride. cant make a comment about the saddle, but i can SWEAR BY the chamois butter. 42 miles + chamois butter = a VERY comfortable bottom. the same exact saddle in the same exact position, same exact bike shorts.... 13.5 miles - chamois butter = a VERY uncomfortable bottom. felt like i was sitting on rocks.... might be worth a try (if you havent been in the habit of using it....) stacieb I was informed of "Assos" - it's supposed to be some pretty good schtuff. As a women I highly don't recommend Assos riding. It has a tingling menthol type feeling that is quite unpleasant on a women's private parts while bike riding. I think Chamois Butter has a touch of menthol too. I don't know why the heck they put that in there! I got the Tri Stryke and it's on the bike. I only got to ride it for about 10 minutes. The good news is that it has a similar shape as my old saddle and that was one of the few things I liked. It's more comfortable for sure, but we'll see how it works on the long rides. |

Excuse me?! Sand-bagger! Woncha, K? I am all for it!! Why dont you come here and ride out here in Northern Cali? sure we can find a few hills to climb....and then a few more! then some more....I am all for it!! and then we could have a downhill race too! I feel the need for speed! and love passing guys while riding...nothing better then having their necks whip about when you pass them and as you come up on them...say...On your left! boy not sure how many have gotten whiplash...but I would say a good portion of them...I think they dont think girls can ride bikes! well I can ride...but dont ever ask me to race you in the pool! YOU WIN! haha BUT after this race on the bike you so want to do against a girl (me).....well, I guess we will soon find out if this girl (GPOL) is passing out (which I highly doubt!)~~~ or passing on your left (yup thats the ticket) , passing on your right (if I have too!) and well just PASSING YOU in general.... I have no doubt about your biking skills, Girl Passing Out. No doubt whatsoever. so we on?? ready to race? |
