i forgot to mention.

i scheduled a meeting w the divorce mediator.

June 4th.  got J. to commit to being there.

they said it usually takes 2 maybe 3 meetings, the papers are filed and then 90 days from then.

my goal is to have papers filled out and filed at the end of June at the latest....the sooner the better.

that way i'll be free agent come September.

LIFE IS MOVING FORWARD!

skrtrnr - 2010-05-17 7:56 AM MORNING GHOULIES.

man am i lacking in the inspiration dept.

i was supposed to race on Sunday, but never got outta bed.  SO not like me.  friends from my tri club were even gonna be there.

i really dont know whats wrong other than the fact that i feel like my energy is being used up in just getting things squared away in my personal life.

i can definately say im NOT depressed.  thats not the issue.  i am UNBELIEVABLY happy, content, excited, anticipating my life moving forward and having the BEST time CREATING a new life for myself.

i have this INCREDIBLY WONDERFUL man in my life who is treating me like a QUEEN.  kind and considerate.  the male version of me.  a person who lives passionately and loves wholeheartedly.  who knows the value of deep, significant, meaningful relationships.

where the fck was he 20 years ago???

i have every reason to be happy.  and i am.

its just this whole energy for training thing that is waning.

so ive just let it go.  and accepted it.  it is what is.  im certain at some point the malaise will just naturally pass.  im not gonna fight it.

until then, i keep plugging away, w a focus on maintaining my fitness level.  body pump today.  spin tomorrow.  swim on wednesday.  then i'll plan the rest of my week depending on the weather.

i feel healthy and strong.  just....just....i dunno.

that about sums things up with me.

i wont be in the Village much today.  its my chore/errand running day.

my cupboards, refrigerator and pantry are SO bare.

time to get to the store.

and theres mounds of laundry to do.

HAVE A HAPPY GHOULIES!

ironannekidd - 2010-05-17 8:28 AM I just walked in the door from getting the kids on the bus and the phone rang. Field Day has been postponed until May 27th.
The good news is I have today off work. I think I'm going to do a few things around the house, then I need to go pick up a pair of new swim goggles and see if I can get some KT Tape, then I'm going to head to  the college for a total body workout.

Weight lifting and a swim are calling my name today.

You are not going to go into work Ann(e)??

I'm scheduled to be off

My job sucks and it sucks the life out of me to be there

No. I'm not going in today.

I'm going to get yogafied, get my swim on, lift lots of weights, and who knows what else. Today is a ME day!

Ann, good luck with the tape.  Go for a cool color.  FWIW, I think the beige tape (less noticeable) does not adhere as well as the colored tapes.  Not sure why that is, but there is a real difference.  I just bought a couple rolls of blue since my new kicks are blue.  My tri-suit is red, so as soon as the season starts I'm switching to red.

Have a great day off. Cool

Noted on the tape color. I'm not a beige and boring kind of girl anyway. If I can't get colored tape at Dick's I was going to order it online.

disturbed275 - 2010-05-16 8:34 AM Good morning ghoulies!

Yesterday was one of the best training days I've had in awhile.  Managed an 8 mile run in the morning and a 64 mile ride in the afternoon.  Weather was perfect: 70, tons of sun, and little wind.

I'm hopping on the bike again this morning and then have a group run and OWS this afternoon.  Should be fun!

nice job on the training Neal!

kcarroll - 2010-05-16 5:09 PM Evening Ghouls.  Well, today's half was nothing to write home about.  I felt great through mile 10 and was even well ahead of my planned pace.  Then I stepped into a pot hole and the knee went postal at mile 11. Since this was a nice to do run, I decided to walk the rest of the way in.  I'm icing and chewing advil and the swelling has gone down.  The race itself was incredibly well done for a local event.  The volunteers were mostly from the high school lacrosse teams and cheerleading squads.  Those kids did a terrific job and made the race a lot more fun. So, this is one to keep on the future race list.  Big shout out to the kids at mile 5/10 who were handing out bottled water and home made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  You were the best!!!! Now it is time to regroup and get the knee back on track.  MCM is the focus now for the rest of the year.

sorry about the knee! Hope it heals quickly.

iowagander - 2010-05-16 7:05 PM Good evening Ghoulies! I hope everyone's having a nice weekend.

Unfortunately today was a good news/bad news kind of day. The good: my race. The bad: everything else. I'll stick to the good though...

Today was my 4 mile race over the Coronado Bay Bridge (see below), which I've been wanting to do for about 10 years now. I was hoping for 30 min/7:30 per mile pace. Unfortunately, the only mile marker they had up was at mile 3 so I had NO idea what my pace was up until then and couldn't get splits. I was psyched to pass it at 22:30 though, putting me right on pace after the descent.

I ended up finishing in 29:19, 41 seconds under my goal. I'm hoping this is a good indicator of what I can expect for my pace at my tri next month. Yes, today's run was shorter and it wasn't following a swim and bike, but it included a 1 mile, 200 foot ascent that definitely burned just a tad.

I'd like to go back and catch up on the thread, but I'm honestly not feeling that great and need to get dinner going soon. I'm making chicken, asparagus, and pasta tonight. Not too creative, but it sounds good so I'll deal with it. Take care everyone, have a great evening, and I'll try to actually show up when some of you are around here in the next couple days.

P.S. I came in 33/283 in my AG!

Tom great job on your race! Hope the rest of "life" gets better!

I seem to always be alone in the village
My weekend was busy! Saturday had confirmation practice for oldest daughter, then swim meet for 2 of the girls, then dress shopping for oldest daughter, then back out shopping for daughter#3 and son, then drama from daughter #1 &#2! Hubby was great helping with all the party to do's so Sunday would run smooth! Sunday up early to be to church on time....still dealing with drama from #1 &#2! What is with these girls! Then party at the park...sunny but VERY windy, kept blowing the burners out so the food was cold....we ended up stacking stuff around it but lunch was about 1 1/2 hours late due to food! also hubby's parent were late getting to the party (FIL never even showed up to the church!) and I wonder where my girls get the drama?  Oh well life goes on!
busy day for me, cleaning, laundry then practice vive, long swim, teach water aerobics, home to get dinner ready, then teach vive and 2 more water aerobics tonight! Have a great day all!

Hello Ghoulies! It's going to be a quick day here thanks to a doctor consultation I have (need a sleep study) and the fact both mine and my wife's computers are on the fritz so I need to go to Best Buy. In the meantime, I'm going to do everything in my power to stay in my nice comfortable workout clothes and NOT change into my uniform. Wish me luck..

OH NO KIM!!!!!

Sorry to hear you hurt your knee. Rest Rest Rest! Then rest some more. Rest Ice Compression Elevation for the next few days!

MCM start line trained, prepared, uninjured!!!!!

Glad to hear the race was a good one though!

I will be at MCM with you Ann.  It was that goal that made me quit pushing and walk to the finish.  Apart from the knee, I feel much better than I did after last month's half mary.  Cardio and leg strength are getting stronger.  Just got to work on the knee.  I put a call into my PT this afternoon.

That's AWESOME!

X2!  Nice job, Kim.  Lot's of positives to take away from that race.

X3 - I was scared for you when I read about the pothole incident, but I'm sure you'll pull through fine. Great job!
