I like it. Seems more inviting, everything is front and center and easy to find. More attractive as well.

Damn Shaun the old lady was cracking the whip on a vacation day.  :P  New site looks good.

Swim and ST (chest, shoulders, tris) in this morning.  Trainer at lunch and if the weather holds up I'm pushing the sled (jogging stroller) after work.

OK time for coffee.

Nice race this weekend, Kelly!

Got in a 7 mile run with incline repeats this morning, and then I'm hitting the gym for weights and a swim tonight.  Added chia seeds to my morning smoothie and didn't even notice they were in there.  I feel really energetic after drinking these in the morning, so I think the smoothie is my new breakfast.

My vacation day was spent finalizing the redesign of the Hartford Track Club website.

Do me a favor and let me know what you think.

Looks tremendously better!

The British womens cycling team has already had a decent bit of drama over the past year.  Adding chrissie to the potential mix will be interesting.

uhcoog - 2012-01-16 1:49 PM So anyone else think Rinny woke up this morning, popped up the interwebz, and did a little happy dance?

I think she's actually a bit bummed out.  I think that she's the type of competitor who wants to beat the best.  Even when she won in 2010, there were all sorts of comments that while Rinny had a really great race who knows what would have happened if Chrissie raced etc. etc. etc.

If I were Rinny, I would really want to go against Chrissie in Kona and win.

Good point

I really like Rinny, but she aint even close.  Chrissy is playing a different game than every other woman in the sport.  Barring injury or insanity she will win everything until someone new comes along with better genetics than the current competition group.

Word on the interwebs this morning is that she would like to have children / is already pregnant.  She is 35.  I believe the number of pro women with children at Kona this year was 1 (Natasha Badmann who had her daughter before she became a triathlete).

Its not about the bike (or rather its much more about the engine and the body comp than the bike -- although the bike is very cool).

Shaun - Site looks so much more appealing.  I'm sure Kelly made sure she was the first photo in the loop with her LuLu shorts on, or whatever those things are called!!

Everyone is doing great with training.  Keep it up.  Day four post surgery, and doing better, but driving myself nuts.  I am not someone that can sit around the house all weeekend. Still some soreness.  PT yesterday was ok.  I can raise the arm to 90 degrees frontwards.  And can now button a shirt with slight pain.  Shaving, brushing teeth, and getting dressed is quite comical. Putting socks on is even funnier and frustrating to say the least. No running for about 6 weeks, cant have the shoulder bouncing around. I may be able to get on the eliptical in 7-10 days, but obviously using the stionary arms, not the ones that swing back and forth.  Damn, it just took my 10 minutes to type this with one hand!! ha

Rizer - glad you are feeling better, hang in there!

Second week of pretty consistent training since IMAZ is done and I'm feeling like I'm more back in the groove.

I weighed in today and I'm down 4.2 pounds since last Monday, when I recommitted to good nutrition. I'm tracking using Weight Watchers, but focusing a lot on veggies, fruits and lean meats with small amounts of dairy and carbs. Sort of a WW/Paleo for Athletes hybrid of my own creation.  I'm feeling much better and happy that I tracked 100% of what I ate. When I lost 55 pounds from 2006 - 2010 tracking was a huge part of my success.

I realize that a lot of the loss this week is water weight from cutting out a lot of salt and it'll slow down, but overall happy with the downward progress.

We have our Season Kickoff meeting for my tri club tonight - I'm a bit nervous because we are expecting more than 100 people and I have to get up and speak about our run programs for 2012. Should be fun though!

hang in there and don't rush things. My PT today was excrusiating to say the least, but the deep massage did loosen things up. I even got to ride the stationary bike 15 minutes at a zero resistance but high rpm. Last year I already had 100 miles on my bike, this year  only 17.

Margo - I'd be sick sick sick having to speak in front of that many people.  Good for you!

Jeff - glad you're getting around, even if it's slow.  You'll be a one handed typing fool in no time!  (Yes, those are lulu shorts - very impressive.)

Shaun - new site looks so much better, nice work.

About Chrissie - I wondered if she might be pregnant, or wanting to start a family.  Seemed odd to step down when she's still on top, without any signs of not staying there.  I guess we'll find out soon enough if that's the case.

Ok, can someone explain to me a two beat kick, six beat kick, etc.  I'm pretty sure I'm a zero beat kick, but don't really know what two beat means.  And for someone who barely kicks, how do you convert to some kind of a kick?

number if kicks per stroke.  thus 2 beat kick = you kick twice for each stroke.

How do you convert?  kick more or less.  Kick and tri swimming is one of those topics that you will get a lot of opinions on, like stroke rate.

Glad to hear you're feeling better, Jeff (rizer).  Rest, rest, rest!!

My husband called to say he mixed up nights and he's brewing beer tonight, so no lifting and swimming for me.  I did a 40 minute kettlebell dvd.  I am sore now!  Wow!

Note to self.  Brewing beer gets you out of watching the kids.  Got it.
