Bisquick in a baggie, add a little seasoning and water. Mix up. Roll into a thin strip, wrap around a green branch. Your hands get a little messy, but it dries. I kept spinning it slowly over the fire, like a rotisserie. Sprayed some butter on and YUM! Clean up difficulty =throw the stick in the fire. TA-DA |

He had to be cleared by his doctor before he could return to football practice. There are 8 doctors in our office, we usually get the 1 we don't care for. She told him yesterday that if you have a concussion, and you get anther concussion right away, you could drop dead right there on the field. File that under Things You Don't Tell A 12 Year Old! |

We have had no raises for the past 5 years and it looks like this will be year 6 with no raise. That is also no cost of living increases also, and they have raised our expenses on health insureance and co-pays. So, 12K sounds really good to me. Plus being the big boss. It is a one building system, so it would be a nice segway into a larger system if I decided to go for something larger.kns57 - 2012-09-11 1:22 PM I'm getting excited about the job opportunity. I've been looking into the system and the requirements for the job. Plus I spoke with a director at another system who used to work for me. He was very positive about me trying for the position and will be one of my references. Now to just line up a couple of other references without giving away what I am up to. I think one of my fellow rotarians will be a reference for me. Even though she retired several years ago, we work in the same system and she knows me in Rotary. Now to come up with one more.
So if the commute is a drawback (at least it would be for me), then what are the advantages? The autonomy of being the director? That could be very cool. |

Truth is any head injury period regardless of previous concussion history could cause death. The most acute danger zone is within the 24-48 hrs after head injury and after that risk declines with time. Hard to give an exact timeline. That said my phrasing probably would have been "not a good idea to practice because you could end up with a worse head injury of you got hit again" not "you could drop dead". deehtz - 2012-09-12 9:48 AM ironannekidd - 2012-09-12 4:26 AM ceilidh - 2012-09-12 7:11 AM ironannekidd - 2012-09-12 5:05 AM I took Caleb to the doctor's office yesterday. NO CHIT! She SAID that to him... I hope that doesn't make him too nervous to have a good time. Yep, that's what she told him. I sat there and watched the color drain from his face, then said to her "why would you say that to a kid?" I wasn't happy.
That's awful !!! Has he talked about it after the Dr. visit? Does he seem to want to go play like normal? Yes, we talked about it. I took him over to see the Athletic Trainer, he goes over to see her instead of to football practice right now. I told her what the doc said and her jaw about hit the floor. She told Caleb not to worry about it, she wouldn't let him practice until she thought he was ready, she wasn't going to let anything happen to him. I just think that's a very irresponsible thing to say to or in front of a kid. I think we are going to try to avoid seeing that doctor from now on, we have never really cared for her anyway. Exactly, there was definitely a more tactful way to say it. |

I'm thinking there's a reason she's easier to get into than the other docs in the office... |

X 1,000. I am glad they have guidlines in place now that don't allow kids to return to play without medical clearance after a head injury. Even if the doc has issues with bedside manner. |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Hi guys! I'm popping in to say hi. It's nearly 10 pm here, and the kids are both still doing homework. The Boy did take a play break, and he went to boy scouts, but still. I still waiting for the time when my hubby will be here to take over off/on.*not holding out much hope, though*. Being the one and only parent/caregiver is exhausting. Especially mentally and emotionally with The Boy's school issues.
Robin, I willed my mojo to come find you. I figure if it's going to hide from me, someone else might as well use it. Did it arrive safely? |

If my kids were up until 10:00 doing homework they'd be bears in the morning. We have the IEP in place for my daughter this year, their teacher gives them 20-30 minutes at the end of the day to do homework, or whatever, the learning support teacher helps Keri with her homework. Other than spelling words she doesn't really bring anything home. It is kind of nice. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: GHOULIES moving towards the islands. Do not be like me and blindly pay bills without really looking at them. My past 2 cell phone bills have been HIGH. The initial bill I thought was because I added Caleb's plan. Last month I wasn't sure, but I paid it. I just got my new bill and it was $203. I thought that wasn't right so I went online and actually looked at the bill. They were still charging me for my individual plan, which was supposed to have been dropped AND the shared plan. I have now been credited for the overages and the individual plan has been dropped. That will save me $$ every month. That's more play money for me!
