Our company just sent a full email about the drug free policy.  Funny.

I asked the Power Generation Division Manager what our policy was for our crews in Colorado and Washington a week ago.

I think they got a bit worried about that and fired-off an email to all.

Told the wife I was going to get her some of me posing ala George Costanza...

We will be happy to proof them for you so you know the best ones to give your wife.

Indeed. I am told I have an excellent eye for photography.

jclarke450 - 2013-02-07 8:59 AM Just spent the last 15 minutes yelling at my boss.  Almost done shaking after being so irritated.  Wonderful start to the day.    Yay Thursday

That's usually not great for your career.  But sounds like you aren't exactly pleased with that place to begin with.

And sometimes it is great for your career.  Sometimes it pulls the Boss/owner/manager/etc's head out of his/her @$$ if you know what I mean.  Sometimes they need to understand how it really is going.

Might be a requirement?
We are required to send the standard email reminder about some of our policies every year. It completely dilutes the message and no one reads it, but hey we checked the box!

In my time of uncertainy I turned to the Magic 8 ball and it told me to "ask again later"....sigh

But that is the right question

Geezerette #3 met a guy, dated him briefly, decided he was not the "one", had the talk that she wanted to be just friends, he took it hard. Then, she had some problems, he came to the rescue, and they are friends now.  My guess is that this guy is pretty good.  The problem, if there is one, is that the guy is geeky.  He is geeky by my standards which puts him in 3 sigma territory.  Geezerette #3 is too.  She is, after all, the daughter who formulated the Geeky Gene Theory.  (I've told that one many times before.) However, she has not come to embrace her geeky side.  Anyway, he is finishing his PhD this semester, she is finishing her post doc appointment soon, and both will be in a different places in a few months if they don't do something. My input on the matter is not welcome.  It is one of those situations in which forward and reverse psychology parenting strategies have the same wrong-way effect.  I got nothing but a good seat at the show.

Yes. Cake Boy was my Mercury, and indeed mercurial. I've still never met anyone who could take on my thoughts and senses like that. It STILL creeps me out, in an almost-yummy skin-tingling way.

I think I do enough soaring for two, so I'm good with someone grounded. Everybody's gotta be young and stupid once, or in my case, a few hundred times.
