You know, Mila.  SAL has a mischevios mean streak in him as well.  He's askeered of me beating him this year.  So what does he do... Tells me I need to miss 6 more days of workouts to catch up.. and then sends 6 inches of SNOW to dallas so I can barely get the car out of my driveway...let alone get to the gym to do anything.... Good thing I can work virtual?

RANT-- This is nutso.  It's snowing HUGE snowflakes this afternoon.  I've got over 2 inches on my lawn as I speak.  News says we could get 6 inches before it's over.  Hey-- this is MARCH.  I'm racing a week from Saturday.  I don't need 6 inches of snow.   I moved to Texas, in part, to get away from this Mother Nature's Dandruff..    I've always hated it, and now I've got 6 inches !!!!  UGH.  People here don't have a clue how to drive in it.  SCARRY! End rant!

Actually, I like looking at snow in the mountains, and most anywhere other than on the sidewalks or roads.  It's UGLY anywhere else!

You really should just move south, Pookie.

Alright... any suggestions for the parameters for the challenge to the other group or are you going to let me have free reign?

Look at it this way, you will be able to race much better in the snow than your competition.

They may not even show up in the cold. Instant Hardware!

So you want some new bike wheels?

There are event wheels, and then there are these wheels: 734 grams (1.64 lbs.) for the pair at a cost of $15,000. The were made using boron by Lew Racing for a 150-pound (68-kg) German roadie named Gunter Mal, whose complete bike weighs 3,195 grams. That's 7.1 pounds, or less than half of what would be UCI-legal for racing. And Mal claims he rides it as many as 1,000 km (620 miles) a week. For details (with photos) on how he made the bike so light -- and even shaved 30 grams from Lew's wheels -- click http://tinyurl.com/2ac3n5

How's snowy Dallas?  Hmm...something just sounds odd about that...I'm sure it's all melted by now...

Cause for celebration up here in Minneapolis.  Today will be the last day of the season below ZERO...YAY!!!  Bike commuting starts next week!

Still have about 2-3 inches out there...   So well, it's not gone yet.   BUT...  the good news is I didn't have to shovel my driveway or sidewalks -- snow has melted there......which is a REALLY good thing because I left my snow blower and snow shovels with my mother-in-law in Utah......

Oh well....

But. the forecast for next Saturday -- my first race since November 2006 is for low of 53, high of 70, 10% chance of precip, and partly cloudy skies.  Hows that for NEAR perfect conditions.   Hope that forecast holds.....

I was only following directions.  I thought it was a nice change.

I put some feelers out about the challenge.  No bites yet.  I think they are just askeered of us.  They might have seen pictures of my pink whip.

How do you know?  You could have a cold snap once my frozen heart gets to town.

Speaking of... you know what you need, you need a nice little trip to Florida with your wetsuit... unless Corey wants to swim 1.2 for me!

No they's askeered of YOU, Ms. Pink Whip...Innocent

So, did you get your final details?  Any free time?  You realize March 17th is St. Patty's Day...there's a lot of Irish folk up in Chanhassen you know...

I think we can arrange for it to be above 40 degrees when you're here...is that at least bearable Ms. Iron Butt with the pink whip from the ATL?

Oh...nevermind...I guess the half's in May...the same weekend I'll be running a marathon in cool, possibly sunny, but somewhat windy FARGO...otherwise known as F(lorid)argo, the Florida of the north...

EDIT:  Ooh...I guess that would put you in the last 2 months of your bike half-iron training...time to revise your training schedule!  (Yeah, now let's see who's gonna run and hide...)....

DOH!  Silly phone rang and I couldn't respond fast enough to explain to you that if you came in November you'd need to swim a little further than 1.2!   Just blow off the marathon.  Fargo vs. The Redneck Riviera?  Seriously?

Go right ahead, I'm not scared of a little biking.  I haven't really made up my mind, depends who wants to swim and run.  Let's just be sure that it's only the BIKE portion, shall we?  Remember that horrific 3600 meter swim??!

All I have right now is my flight schedule.  It is driving me CRAZY.  Seriously.  I need to know these things.  Right now!!!!!!!!  I do realize it's St. Patty's Day so I hope you're wearing green because I pinch hard.  Actually, my flight doesn't get in until almost 8 that night.
