Or take slake with you. I listened to that guy negotiate a peace treaty one time for about 6 hours. There you go! You've got two people now. Really negotiating w/ dealers has changed in the last 7 years. It is all about having the exact car, at a rock bottom price before you walk in the door, so there really is no negotiating. If you walk in looking for a deal, they'll hagle w/ you for hours and play all of their games. If you get a quote from them over the internet/email/phone what ever, they have to give you a good deal to get you to come to their store rather than the one down the street, and usually that is close to as good as you can get. I have a quote from them, and a quote from a competitor for $400 less. The dealer I'm going to today, also adds a high processing fees than the other place, $300 less. I talked to the guy I am going to meet with on the phone and mentioned that, and he said, "oh, that is because that dealer is in MD, by law they can't charge more than $100 for a processing fee." I told him, "well, I really don't care why they charge $300 less. that doesn't really matter. all that matters, is that's another $300 they have you beat by." So what they need to do today is at the very least meet the price from the other place, minus $300. eta: And probably chop a few hundred off that, as I could get the other dealer down as well, I expect.
