I slept in, all the way to 7:30, and boy did that feel amazing! I love Fridays off. I'm heading out in a bit for a 5 mile run, then will drive to a nearby lake for a long open water swim. Today is a light day in prep for the big day tomorrow - full IM course ride with a 7 mile brick run. Gulp. 7:30 is sleeping IN?????????? Sadly 6 is usually sleeping in. IM training changes your idea of what a normal hour of the morning is and I hate mornings. I'll be up at the blissful hour of 4 tomorrow morning. Good times!!!! HARD CORE is what that is! I've made it up for a few 5:30am rides and swims with a local group... but working my way toward pre-work training little by little. I have yet to get training before 6:30 on my own! My BF is a late night/late sleeper kind of guy, and I need to just get over that and not try to keep up with him. Yeah, it's not what I prefer either but work is so unpredictable I decided when I took on IM training that I'd have to do most of it in the early morning when I have control over my time. It's amazing how you acclimate to less sleep and earlier wake-ups, but when you do get to sleep in, it's the best feeling in the world! |

For cripes sake I could have run out to the car and got that but NO I'ma gonna make a special training session just so I can do that .3 miles. Yuk - yuk - yuk. Har dee har har. Thanks for the advice. I've got a 4 bottle hydration- belt just for this run. I have been wondering, I have these gels I take for longer run for extra energy. At what point do you think I should take one on this run? Is one gel enough? I say grab a gel at mid run ![]() |

What?!?!? PB and nanners is seriously one of the best combos on earth! A drizzle of honey makes it even better. Have you tried it with Almond Butter? I can't believe that since you mentioned it in Hyannis (wait, I *think* that was you!), I still haven't tried Almond Butter. I'm going to look for some in the store tomorrow. I'll have to try that next. Made the normal one last night and it was decent. |

Saturday's brick is 7 miles. It's a good thing since I think Monday and Tuesday will be light days and may not have running. Good thing for that brick. LOL |

Really, I did. Twice even. BUT, I think I have poison ivy and it was WAY to uncomfortable to run. I thought if I changed my clothes it would help but it didn't. So, I got up at 5:00 for nothing. ![]() OH NO! That is terrible. I might get the poison ivy just because I read this post! I am so allergic to it. I have to take prednisone a couple times a year for poison ivy. I've had to cancel a couple of races because of it, too. Erica, just do a mile a day until you are done! GAHHHHHHHHH! I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOO ALLERGIC TO POISON IVY! If you take even one step towards me, I will ZAP YOU! (Seriously though -- hope it's NOT poison ivy, and that it clears up quickly.)
