I will likely be having a few seated - no running - drinks tomorrow after work...I live in a University town - there's no effin' way I'll get into an Irish pub.  However, my local will always let me in...

I should "run" to the dollar store tonight and get some fun accessories!  It's warm and sunshiney...I just had lunch on the patio (bit cool - still had a jacket on), but the sun felt soooo good.  The snow is completely melted.  I even saw a bee, can you believe that?

Hi bEASTies,
Just "posting in" to say Hi... Busy afternoon, so no afternoon workout.  And no green beer this week or weekend.  With my half marathon on Sunday, I'm "on the wagon" until after the race! :-(

rnihill - 2010-03-15 4:34 PM So, my Monday is shaping up!! Got my swim in. No sick calls from school. AND we paid off a loan today so hubby wants to celebrate!! His theory is that Wednesday is St. Patricks Day and Thurs/Fri is basketball.. so TODAY needs to be the celebration day. He's bringing yummy food home for dinner after the kids are in bed. Yeah!!
You know... reading back through this... when did I plan to work out the rest of the week??

Lol, that sounds like my week every week, haha!  Luckily i have a lot of tri/runner friends who think it's fun to celebrate St. Patrick's Day by running around from one Irish Bar to another, taking a shot at each bar.  So that'll make for a nice interval workout in addition to being very festive for St. Patty's Day. Wink

That sounds like an absolute mess!  No way I can drink and run--heck, I can barely run when I'm sober.

I had the same thought! Gosh, more power to you if you can run and drink!!

I'm very well trained in drinking & running!  In fact, I might be a little *too* good at it :-X

Good luck on your half mary.  Yeah, being a little hungover before a race can't be a good thing...

Holy Cow--our rivals are up to 54 pages of chat.  What can they possibly be chatting about?  I'm just not that good at small talk--next time I sign up for a challenge, I guess I'll need to attend a lot of cocktail parties to sharpen my small-talk skills.  Oh well, we'll just have to kick their rears in training.

Made good on my promise of a PM cycle.  The big news is... I was HOT!  Yeah baby, Spring has sprung.

One more thing:  Do you mind if I toot my own horn a bit?  Today, at the pool I swam a PR of 100 yds at 1:29.  OK, I know it was only ONE 100, but I'll take it!  Now, if I could just do that for 2.4 miles, I'd be set.

Yay for progress.  Hope your massage was nice!

Maybe that's what I need to improve my running....a little body and joint lubricant!

I got a swim in today.  They posted new swim hours yesterday and I don't think the word is out yet. Had only one other swimmer in the whole pool!  I'm at 50% of my swim goal now.

I am thinking of changing my race schedule.  I had hoped to do a HIM in late June but I don't think it is in the cards this year.

I know I won't have enough OWS time to feel comfortable and I have been too busy at work lately.  Work finances are a mess and I am going to have to forgo a paycheck for the next month or more.  The expense of buying a wetsuit and the race is too much right now.  I also want to attend a conference that is the same day as the race.   It will be an important chance to make some work contacts.  Arghh, I feel like I am just making excuses but I think it is best.  There is a HIM in September I could do.

Not excuses--I think you are making a responsible decision.  You need to take care of business first, and there will be other races.

It sounds like a well thought out decision to me. Those kind of choices are always hard to make, but there will always be other times to do other races. Best not to stretch yourself too thin or give up on one-time chance sort of things like a conference.

You know, I have no idea about other people's health care but I have zero complaints about ours (military).  If you know the system, it works like a well oiled machine.  Most of the time.

I had such a long afternoon.  Cole's evaluation went well.  I didn't get any surprises.  He is lacking in many areas.  But is still stings a bit to hear it.  His new OT is great though.

Tomorrow is our last appointment for the week.  We are rounding it out with audiology.  We are going to a new place so it should be interesting to see what they say and recommend.
