Hopefully you will all come up with a plan that will be good for her.I just spent 25 minutes on the phone with the counselor at my daughter's elementary school. We are going to meet on Thursday morning to talk about how to help her in school. We are going to set goals, and steps for her to meet the goals. She may also be tested for learning disabilities.
x2! My step son had "disabilities", too. He is now teaching advance college prep math at a private high school (and teaching rock climbing, too). |

x2! My step son had "disabilities", too. He is now teaching advance college prep math at a private high school (and teaching rock climbing, too). Thanks guys. Up until this year she never seemed like she was frustrated with school. This year she just seems like she doesn't care as much. I'm afraid if we don't get a handle on it by the time she's in middle school, in the 5th grade, that we may lose her. I don't want that to happen!

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulie work it out, take it off, write it down challenge! So earlier this morning I had a guy that works in a different department, and for a different company, ask me if I'd be open to taking a position in this other department. It would be A LOT of money. It is also in a department where I don't like most of their people, especially their director. I wouldn't be doing anything technical, I'd be doing a lot of reporting and paper pushing. Do I sell myself out and take a job I don't want, still working in a place I'm trying to get out of for all the extra cash?

Sounds like the frying pan into the fire. Are the $$ > the PIA involved? When I was asked what number would it take for me to say yes on the spot, I replied with "There isn't enough money in the world for me to do that." The money would be nice. The money would be really nice. I know I would hate the job though. It would be worse than doing the job I'm doing now. |

Would you council one of your children to take a job for the money when they would be totally frustrated and hating the job and the people they worked with? |

That's kinda of why I ended up in libraries. I love libraries, but you definately do not make the money here. But I enjoy coming to work everyday (even with dealing with the afterschool special).ironannekidd - 2011-03-28 1:00 PM ceilidh - 2011-03-28 12:41 PM ironannekidd - 2011-03-28 12:22 PM So earlier this morning I had a guy that works in a different department, and for a different company, ask me if I'd be open to taking a position in this other department. MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie work it out, take it off, write it down challenge! So tonight we start week 6 of the running workshop that I'm in. I am seeing an improvement. I'm up to a minute and half walk/ minute and half run and can go for about 40 minutes and not be totally wiped out. I'm beginning to get a handle on the breathing so that I don't sound like Darth Vadar after about 10 minutes. I'm excided to see how I improve over the next 5 weeks. And the knees are doing so much better. Edited by kns57 2011-03-28 1:18 PM |

Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie work it out, take it off, write it down challenge! AFTERNOON GHOULIES. another quick in an out for me. got 1500 in at our sister Y. its two blocks down the street from my first and second office. why hadnt i thought of working out there sooner is beyond me. they're indoor track SUCKS so i would never want to run there, but their lap pool is awesome. its separate from their other pools and theres hardly anyone there so its quiet and i get my choice of lanes. and its a 25 meter pool instead of 25 yard so i dont feel like a gerbil caught in one of those wheels doing flip turns every 2 seconds. LOL. i think this will become a part of my regular routine. after i turn in my weekly paperwork and go to supervision at least until the summer when the boys are home from school.
LAX practice tonight. YAY! its sunny but so damn cold. im hoping my middle copes better this week than last week. he ran over to the car sobbing that he couldnt feel his hands. they were numb from the cold. OI! im not sure he's cracked up to play a sucktastic weather sport.
i got THREE assignments from new job. and get this 5 what would've been new assignments from my other job. WTF right?? ive been over six months and went from 18 hours to 11...and NOW they have 11 additional hours for me??? im gonna break the news to my supervisor tomorrow. i can keep the cases that i have. i have to drop one. if she wants to keep me on she can. otherwise im cutting bait. we.shall.see. ISNT MY LIFE SILLY? stacieb |

Sudden Death. That does not sound fun. Do you have to deal with the families or just investigate the causes? |

I think you should come to NC in August before that. For a mental break before all of that. Plus, it is usually HOT and SUNNY then and there is a Lake. Just sayin. |

On the 19th I am doing my rural placement for 4 weeks somewhere in random Alberta....I'm crossing my fingers for Jasper or something...but that might be hard to get because it is in the mountains...and everyone wants to go out to the mountains. After Oct 18, I have 7 days off in Dec-Jan for Xmas/New Years and then I go straight till April 2...then I plan on going somewhere for a week. Then I go straight till July...3rd year is a rough year....very intensive. Then 4th year starts...and residency matching...and OMG... |
