Dumbest. Thread. Ever.

And Ryna, I would have just stopped talking to you if you had posted that. Seriously.

now if the thread was.... Should I tell my wife I just spent more on a tri bike than I did on my first car?

it would be short... The answer is 'no'!

I spent $220 for the car that got me through graduate school from 1985-87. It was a 1973 Ford Maverick. Thing had the big 8 cyclinder engine in it. You could SEE the gas gauge drop driving down the interstate, but man, when you needed Warp Speed, that car had it in spades.

Good morning everyone. My doc said I was fine yesterday afternoon and I'm cleared (although I was before) to resume all training. Just a doublecheck. She agreed that my injuries were consistent and severe enough that I was probably hit by a car.

Tomorrow I meet the membership coordinator of my tri club to get my jersey:

Its refreshing to know he's been doing tris for 8 years and hates swimming as much as I do. BUT, in the course of participating on our email listserv, I found an athlete who is an excellent swimmer and wants to do relays if they can find a cyclist and a runner. I've got the runner - the #4 female finisher at Eppie's Great Race in July. Watch out.

Sweet! Glad you were cleared by the doc, and that's great news about the relay.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

Okay, what if I only date people under 29? Under 5' 0"? Can I do a "youth by association" thing or at least "immaturity by imitation?"

Oh, I found out at the doctor last night that I shrank a quarter of inch. Damn gravity. I'm no longer 5'5 1/2", I'm 5'5 1/4". And without shoes, in a polo shirt, shorts and empty pockets, I'm 153.4.

Key to me running faster - drop to 140 by CIM. That's 30 seconds off of my mile time right there. I've got to quit eating crap!

Well, spokes, let's say you cut your legs off at the knee (supposing you have really well-developed calves) ... that way I could date you AND you'd drop to 140 really fast.

You may want to just check into the nursing home now.  Sheesh.

I hear they give a BT discount

That doesn't sound so bad ... they wheel you around ... you get fed ... arts and crafts ... bingo ... sure beats getting up way before the buttcrack of dark dawn to cycle a bunch only to then plunge myself into a freezing ocean and then get back on the bike to work ...

... or maybe not.

Zilla, wait, you're in TUCSON?!?! I have important Tucson questions! Like ... is it really dumb to think I could take a bus back and forth to the Tucson mary shuttle site?

Spokes--of course, I could just do the CIM, since I have a ready-made driver/host/jockstrapper/marathon ho near Sacramento. But why do that when I could blow a bunch of dough in a whole 'nother state?

I don't have a good answer for that. I'm doing CIM because its convenient and a relatively easy course, and I've never done a marathon before... so.

Does that make you the virgin mary?

Zilla - 2007-09-19 12:57 PM Oh, and you are very clean.

Uhhh ... thanks. I think.

What?  What did you expect after the Freddy Krueger comment?  But you are very clean.

Question is was he still clean after he met you.  ;P

Hi everyone.  Making a hit and run.  I hate having to actually work at work.  I am applying for another promotion though.  Gotta afford next season's toys!
