I got that Stage sussed. Fell asleep, woke up with 100 metres to go. Now that's the way to watch it.

then backed off as the others took of and they couldnt keep up...

How did Van Summeren end up 3'37" behind the leader?  He and Sapa were in the breakaway and only got caught in the last 5k or so.  Did he really lose 50" per kilometer over the last few minutes of the race?  Sapa was 24" behind the leader.
