Great game tonight..

I wouldn't mind if this was a best of 15 instead of best of seven..  Let them keep playing, since with a lock on around the corner it could be a while

I've never heard 20,000 people go from one extreme to another. It was pretty quiet walking out of the arena.

No comments on the 3rd game.....as it's the same from game 1 and 2. Bad calls, missed shots, heat hitting when it counted, turnovers/rebounds.....

I think that it's still anyones series......

It was a tough game, exiting until the end, and like Gary previously mentioned, i wish this series would be longer than 7.

I didn’t think Miami was going to pull it off last night.  The Mavs got some serious home cooking down the stretch.  I have been a big basketball fan for a lot of years and I had never seen a team outscored in the paint by 18 shoot 12 free throws more.  Wade by itself scored more points in the paint than the Mavs and he only went to the line 4 times.  Refs need to be more consistent with their calls, they are affecting the flow of the game at times.

Dirk gave it all he had, he played a great game and was even blocking shots.  You can tell that he really wants to win this series.  Unfortunately he is not getting much help, if I were Dirk I would forbid Jason Terry of using the Jet nickname until he makes a meaningful basket.

The next two games will be must wins for Dallas; I wouldn’t like their chances if they go back to Miami down 3-2.

Was that you who spilt their drink and delayed the game 5 minutes? Thought that was crazy and slow clean up perhaps Inge rial to give Mavs longer rest. That said, great game and series could easily be 3-0 Heat or 2-1 Mavs. Looks like Heats series to lose, but might take the distance. Agree that the flop fouls are horrible for the game. Both teams do it and it is getting old. Hope they address in the offseason. Bosh is blinded in one eye with no-call and then a player breathes heavy and is hit with foul, very inconsistent.

totally agree with ya,  Dirk got no help and I think that is where the miami defense is hurting us,      and chalmers is killing us, with timely 3's..  He has shown up for the finals big time??   We should never let Peja in the game, Riley could come out of the stands and drive around him

My only guess on the FT difference is (and it's only a guess) that miami seems to get a lot of open court dunks which count as paint points we don't have anyone back to really foul them.. or D Wade is just too quick for us to foul.  Just a therory though

there is a good (and brief) article on the espn daily dime page,   It basically shows how both dallas and Miami were the best/most efficient 2 point shooting teams in the leauge but in the finals tboth teams 2 point shooting is horrid but they are doing  great at the 3 point line.

We need to win two in a row to have a good shot at winning. going back to Miami with a 3-2 lead.  this every other game stuff won't work.

you know how you (not you personally) dislike a player on a different team but like him if he is on your team?? it's the reverse with J. Terry for me

I put up with the Jet since he is on the Mavs but it wouldn't hurt my feelings if he was on another team.

If, and it's a big if,, he gets hot that will be great, Heck if he just shoots his avg % that would be great.   J. terry has a habit of saying things but not really delivering.  Yes.. I will admit shooting over LeBron is not easy or a good match up for him, but when he gets open looks he needs to hit those and he hasn't.

of course I'm still pulling for a Mavs win tonight and thursday.

I know exactly what you mean....I never liked Shaq, and put up with him when he played in Miami, and was glad when he was traded to the Suns.

What i found funny about his statements is that he is not giving credit to anyone, not LBJ, or the Heat D, and he is challenging LBJ to do it for 7 games.  For a player that hasnt produced that is really big talk and it could also come back to  bite him in the , he doesnt want an extra motivated LBJ on him.

I'm looking forward to the game tonight....Lets see what happens

that's what ^^  I dislike about him.. Lots of talk for small returns on the talk... Dirk will give credit to players on the others teams, gives an honest opinion of who guards him well etc.  In fact he also said that Jet needs to get going, since he is not playing well.

I credit LBJ defense on Terry,  True that Terry has missed some wide open looks or shots when LBJ is not on him, but he just hasn't got into a rhythm of any sort.   My biggest fear is Terry hoisted up shots when he's not hitting,  Heck put brewer in since his is an athletic wing defender if Terry isn't hitting, so we at least get something

One that last possession we double wade to get it out of his hands, (good since I think he is the best closer on the Heat) who then passes to Lebron, ( who I actually think is the best facilitator in the league and is the most dangerous in that role) we double him and he kicks it to Bosh wide open, since we used all our players on the other two

all that Mavs in 7

He has certainly missed open shots, but even those LBJ had something to do even if it is not directly.  Basketball is mostly a game of rhythm, and when 3 or 4 times during the game you are thrown off that rhythm it becomes difficult to get going again even if you are open.  Tonight i think it will be great or horrible for him and Dallas, if he starts jacking up shots to force the issue then it could be a very long night, but if he makes them all will be forgotten.

That last posession that you described, it is what happens when they move the ball properly and thats when miami is at its best.  When they start playing one on one is when things get dicey, but even like that they are difficult to stop.

I wished Dallas would have made it this far last season, i really would like to see Dirk win but not at Miamis expense.....Hopefully your game 7 prediction doesnt happen, that will certainly be a log drive home (as long as 10 min can be.)

Mavs wins tend to bring out more posters Wink....

Good win by the Mavs....I have no idea what the Heat is doing at times in the 4 quarter, the Mavs are playing good defense but there is no reason at all that Wade and LBJ should be settling for jump shots at the end of the game.

LBJ had a horrible night, the good thing at least for the Heat in regards to that is that i see a 30 plus game from him on thursday.

Great piece on the relationship between Dirk and his coach, i dont think anyone can dislike that guy even if he is playing against their team.  That so called "Jet" is something else, i certainly hope that be the end of the series he switches his name to the "Crop-Duster"

Now the Mavs have to win on thursday again, otherwise this win won't mean much.

Lots of times I'll tape the game then get up early to watch it while on the trainer... Overslept this morning and was curious how long I could go till I found out what happened.

I knew to avoid reading texts from certain people, Facebook also..    what got me was a lady that isn't a big fan and doesn't know much about basketball texted me   "mavs 1st to 80, that means we win, why are they still playing"  Since I go by the old adage of first team to 80 usually wins.   Cracks me up that of all people she stayed up to watch the game

Did Lebron have a bad game?  since I haven't seen anything I don't know, just what Cuetoy mentioned.  Or just bad stats.  He can have a lot of control in a game with his "D", passing, etc and not fill up the stat sheet.

I wouldnt be able to resist the temptation of finding out the score.  I would watch the game later on but just for the hell of it.

You are right, LBF can affect the game in many ways but he has to score more than 8 points.  He had an off night, wasnt agressive, didnt look for his shot.

James was non-existent, but no excuse for loss.   He did pass well and held back shots knowing he was off.  But you take him out of offense and easier to defend the Heat's other stars.   When Wade and Bosh show up that should be enough to win if supporting crew chips in and last night they didn't.   Bibby is completely zero help and question why he even starts over Chalmers.  That said, this was probably the best defensive gave Dallas has had, especially late in the game.   Early on they were being rolled over in the paint and Heat took advantage.  I was optimistic after first half when Miami was under 30% shooting and still close game, assuming that they would get hot.  Never happened and again another 4th quarter let down.   I think they will be out for blood Thursday though and really looking forward to being back down here up 3-2.   I think that would be tough to come back from for either team.    This is exciting basketball!!!

Agreed, LBJ performance is no excuse for the lost.  The reason for the lost was similar to what allow Dallas to comeback on game number 2.  Dallas played good defense, but i dont care how good they play it or who they put on LBJ and Wade, there is no excuse for them to settle for jump shots are the end of the game.  If they decide to attack and make up their mind to do do it Dallas has no one that can stop them.  They have done it in the two wins, and have gotten away from that in the other two games.

Cuetoy says Mavs wins bring out more posters.  Guess that's me.  I don't dislike LeBron and Wade et al, I just really like Kidd and Dirk and Terry, and Barea.  If nothing else cuz they destroyed my team.  Good to see them raining terror 3s on someone else

That is totally fine normally wins bring out fans.

Dallas shot the ball incredibly well last night, there were quite a few shots that were made that if they are taken 10 times 9 are misses, they had the touch.

It was actually the first game that i wasn't upset after a loss.  I felt that Dallas was better and just won the game by shooting the Heat's lights out, not like the two previous games where i felt like Miami pissed the games away.

Mavs did their job, now is up to the Heat to win Sunday at home.  I will be there cheering them on and expecting a game 7.

In an objective opinion (no Heat homer stuff....) what do you think is wrong with LBJ? Has a bad 4th quarter in 2 straight games (heard on Mike and Mike this AM that he's averaging 2.2 point in the 4th quarter in the finals)......is it mental? Is he tired? Is he just not clutch?

Mavs played lights out last night and did have the touch (home court rims - haha). They made the plays when it counted....be it scoring, rebounding, take-aways, etc.

The series just got even more interesting. Heat haven't been in this position but they have 2 at home. while I would like to say that it will be over on Sunday.....I think that we're going to have to wait until Tuesday before this is done....and it may be a last possesion factor.

I have no idea, i'm still trying to figure it out.  It is funny that we think there is something wrong with a guy that put up a triple double but it is obvious that he is struggling in this finals to figure out how to maximize his game .  He is very capable of having a triple double but scoring 30 points while he is at.  The not clutch argument to me is vogus, look what he did in the conference finals and the things he has done in his carreer, Dirk went through that as well, he has been called soft for 12 years (which i thought it was nuts) and then this year all of the sudden he is clutch and in the same class as larry bird.  Thats what happens when shots start going in

If Miami would have won the two games that they let Dallas come from behind then people would be saying that he was a leader, that he plaid very unselfish and dominated the game like Magic.

I dont think fatigue is a factor, he is 26 and a freak of nature.  What i think is happening is that in this series Wade has a more favorable match up than LBJ and the Heat has gone more through Wade.  This has caused LBJ to struggle to get into a rhythm.  Also, Marion deserves some credit, he is a decent defender and has played LBJ very well.

Home cooking will do him some good, if they win Sunday and he has a good game all would be forgotten and then the critics will jump in the bandwagon again and start saying how clutch he is and how he saved his best for when his back was against the wall and blah blah blah.

By the way, if the comments that Mark Jackson makes are any indication of how good he will be as a coch, the warriors are up for their worst season, and that is hard to phantom
