Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Way to go BMC!!! Taking the lead!!! Easy day for me today just a cycling class at the Y tonight but feeling good! The last two stages have been really cool to watch. See these guys just hammer it through the Alps is awesome! What really is amazing is to watch them decend, those guys are fearless. Tomorrow's stage is even more brutal 15,000 ft of climbing in about 89 miles. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Awesome job everyone! I'll get on the trainer for an eZ stage tonight, then a 40k TT tomorrow. Maybe a long day sunday to balance it all out! WE're gonna take this! |

![]() I'm back from my trip and I hit the trainer for an hour last night between my sons piano lessons and ball game. I'm planning a longer ride for tomorrow morning to close out this week. Great work everyone! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Have a 35-40'ish mile ride on tap for today. It's not too hot here, but the humidity is 100%, so it's gonna be sticky. My focus is more for the time - not so much distance. We're doing great. Let's keep our momentum, stay together, help one another and NOT get caught by the 'main group' |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had a great 40k TT going for me today... was averaging about 22 mph, feeling real good after the turn around, then BAM! Flat at mile 18. DNF. Not to happy about that, but I can try again next month! And I have an Oly to look forward to next weekend. Hopefully no flats! Happy riding everyone! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Got up early and knocked out 40 miles this morning then watched the end of the TDF stage this morning. Nice flat stage, then saw this on twitter. Jens Voigt?@thejensie Only checked my avaerage watts today - 319 watts for 4hr45min. But i believe that SRM do publish my file of today on their webpage 319 watts for 4hr 45min for a guy riding in the group. And that was an "easy day. Those guys are amazing! But Jen Voigt is a great inspiration for us over 40 folks! Keep it up Team BMC! Andy |

![]() Got another longer ride in to wrap up this week - 3 hours and 52 miles. Still a lot of riding for me to go to finish up this challenge but I'm ready! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and keep up the great riding! |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well I crashed today. Not my first, but definitely the worst. Really ticks me off because there was absolutely no reason for it other than inattention. I made a RH turn; looked down at the Garmin; next thing I new I was off the road in a big rut and then DOWN. Needless to say I'm done for the day, but do think I can recover enough next week to meet my goal. BTW ... I thought the leaders today displayed a huge sense of sportsmanship in allowing Cadel to catch back up to the leaders. Brad Wiggins is A+++ in my book. I did that same thing last year - wasn't paying attention, pulled onto the street before my neighborhood which was covered in gravel and totally wiped out. Hope you heal up quickly. |

![]() I got two rides in today - I think I'm allowed to count them as two rides. I rode to my friends house, swam for 30 minutes, then road back home. Not a lot of long hours but a solid hard effort on the way there. |

I am a scared of my first crash. It hasn't happened yet ( knock on wood, throwing salt over my shoulder, rubbing rabbits foot, etc.) and I don't want it to. Glad you are ok. I almost crashed doing the same thing and in fact hit the sharp concrete edge of a driveway and flatted out but managed to unclip before I fell over. Got my heart rate up quickly though- hehe. And now more importantly- how is the bike? Hope Ruby (I think?) is ok too. Shelly |

I also haven't crashed (touch wood) but have had a few near misses with cars and also just with lack of concentration. I've updated my logs and am now over 50% with both time and stages. I had planned on a 2.5 hour on the weekend, but wasn't able to get it done. Long story: My girlfriend was participating in an event called the Kokoda challenge - it is a 96km (60mile) hike with severe hills and lots of mud. It is a team event of 4, with a cutoff of 39 hours. I was on the support crew, meaning we met at pre-arrange checkpoints to refill their water and cook some food, etc. My GF (who already has a spinal injury, but is still able to walk) fell after around 35km and hurt her back and knee, but continued to the next checkpoint 5km more, and had to pull out, so I spent the night in hospital with her. Obviously she was very disappointed with not being able to reach her goal. Anyway, so because of this I wasn't able to do my long ride or my scheduled run either. However I am trying to make up for it this week. Everyone else looks like they are going well. Keep it up until the end of the week. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Oh and BTW I signed up for my first IM today!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EEK! It's in Cairns next June, so I have plenty of time to have a little rest and a full training program after my HIM in October. I'm a bit scared but am looking forward to it. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well ... tonight was an exercise in patience and perseverance to get a small bit of ride time in. After 2 popped tubes in the parking lot while 20 cyclists watched, cancelling the ride and swinging by the LBS to re-stock tubes, I thought maybe I can still .... so I decided to do a shortened ride. In route to the ride spot, clouds, lightning, severe wind and rain popped up. With all this working against me, I decided to pack it in and ride the trainer. Bad Karma tonight ... |
