Baowolf - 2008-11-11 10:46 PM 20 mile bike, 5 mile run brick tonight. Longest run ever planned for tomorrow, we see how it goes.

Good workout. Hope the long run goes well for you.

I got in a bit more than 10 miles today. Only 100 more miles to go to make my goal!

I got 5 in today.  This may be it for me for the week.  The weather may not be great for cycling this weekend, if that turns out to be the case, I will try to get another run in.  Either way, I am on track to reach my goal.

I did get the 19 mile run in today, but it weren't nothin to write home about. Must have gone out too hot in yesterday's workout based on last week's workout, but no taper week before this week so ..... cant go out quite so fast. And eating anything an hour before the run is a no no even if you are hungry... ouche cramps for 45 min, not terrible, but not great.

Does that ice bath after the long run ever get any easier, omgosh that water is cold in the winter. It does help the legs immediately, well after 10 min of hyperventilating, but sheeeesh.

Oh well off to bed I am beat. I am kinda on track for my goal, shouldn't be a problem unless I go boom.

30 mile bike, 3 mile run brick for me, recovery day. Not too bad after yesterday's run. I may have a slight cold starting to account slight fatigue.

okay, I'll do a post for the day, otherwise we will have no posts for the day, and that would suck.

So I am moving along. Hit 4 runs this week, which is good. My 2 10ks turned to 8ks because of GI issues which sucks. On the plus side, hopefully that rests me up for my run on Sunday. Skipping out on the Saturday recovery run with the wife as we have a Karate tournament.

I noted most people are doing real well. I think we have a real chance to get 100% so keep it up through the weekend everyone.

We've had icky weather here for most of this week, and I've been busy with other stuff... but still managed to get my mileage in this week, and I'm no track to meet my goal. I hope to pad my miles a bit next week, in case I loose some time over Thanksgiving weekend...

Looks like everyone is doing well. The month is now 50% over and everyone has enough completed to stay in the challenge. It looks like our miles or time needs to be posted in the spreadsheet as of the end of today. I may try to look at the spreadsheet later this evening and can post what's in people's logs in case you haven't been able to get to it.

I ended the week with 76.33 miles. The weather made several of my runs a bit tough, but I got through them all. The forecast is looking halfway decent for next week.

Keep running Pumpkins!

Pumpkins!

You're overdoing it!  The month is only half over, why has a runner completed 80% of goal?  yeesh, running away from something?  bad at setting goals?  chronic overachiever?

Oh, wait, it's the month of Thankfulness!  Thank your teammie for leading the charge and setting a great example

Keep up the great running and I'll see you at the dessert table!

Hi folks....I did 5 miles this morning w/dog. Cold out...about 30. That;s not real cold, but my old bones arent quite ready for winter yet. Anyway, have 29 miles in the books for the month, about 58% of my goal. I dont post much, but try to keep log current. I will get these miles into the spreadsheet.

Nice work everyone!!!!!

Good running Pumpkins! If all the team spreadsheets are up to date the current standings look like this:

Pumpkin - 58.76%

Apple - 49.64%

Pecan - 45.51%

Looks like the Pumpkins are running away with the lead. Let's keep it going!

^^^sweet, awesome.

I crunched out 22k today. Wanted 25k, I dont know. This weekend was supposed to be a rest or reduced volume weekend but since I wimped out last weekend I thought i would push it to 25. Think that was a mistake. My legs just didnt have the power.

So, as a recovery week, I am hitting 2 10ks and a 15 k on the weekend, hopefully that will give me the break I need. Still should be on track for my goal.

Have a good week everyone.

September Goal was 80 miles, October was 90 miles, November was 100 miles and December is probably 110 miles, will have to check to be sure on tapers and such. Upping the goal 10 percent per month not sound reasonable?

I have 1 solid week then a taper week and Thanksgiving which will be hit or miss on all workouts for 10 days as I will be driving 14 hours x 2 days and with family etc. out of town.

However, as I am hoping to do my first full mary in January I needed to adjust my total weekly miles about one week into the month.

Short answer, I will hopefully have the most miles I ever have in my life this month, but couldn't be sure at the start of the month that I would have easy recoveries from 18 19 and 20 mile runs on consecutive weeks or that I woudl tolerate upping pre and post long run workouts or on how much running I will get done during Thanksgiving....

Just short of 7 miles today.  It was a pretty good run until about mile 6.5.  I caught the raised edge of the sidewalk and took a spill.  Scraped my knee some and my right pinkie is a little sore, other than that it wasn't too bad.

It's possible I may have broke my left big toe in my race on Sunday. I'm taking today off and seeing a doctor tomorrow morning. It isn't so bad that I couldn't run, but I guess I should take it easy so I don't possibly cause more damage. It's a bummer because the weather is perfect today.

Well, while everyone is on an injured note. On Sunday I was running, my shoelace caught on something and came undone enough so that I stepped on it (left shoelace) with my right foot. on the very next stride. Man I went down fast, knocked the wind out of me and tweeked my right shoulder slightly.

Everything was ok ish on tonights 20 mile bike 6 mile run, we see if I feel anything odd tomorrow.

I was worried about the old shoes as they are pushing 230 miles on them so I got a new pair (same brand, size, width, style, color, etc.). But the new shoes don't feel right. I know they are not broken in, but my first pair was 100% fine right out of the box with no breakin period required. My left foot goes numb in these shoes after just 3-5 miles. I have no idea.... whassup with that.
