Seems like the married folk are the ones we should be living vicariously through...

Us single types seem to be the boring ones.

-Chris

A married friend of mine moved to a new city not long ago. His wife noticed a few houses in the neighborhood had a particularly attractive flower pots, and she found one for their porch at the local home supply place. About a week later a neighbor asked about the flower pot and then she asked my friend if he knew what it "meant". Apparently this type of plant pot in this area was a sign to other couples that you are opening to swinging... The Joneses show up on your porch with a bottle of wine, and a "How YOU doin?"... It may be urban legend, but they got rid of the flower pot....

ok - where to start? Chris - try getting a cowboy hat!
And who said that the language of flowers is dead??!!!

wow, we get a request for some dating stories, get hijacked by the married BTers, and then stories about flowerpots and swingers... This thread might be a mid-week substitution for watching Desperate Housewives on sunday!

Any stories about murder, using your childs ADHD meds or seducing the boy who cuts your lawn? lol

I disagree Chris....I think we are all doing some pretty cool stuff. Remember the marrieds have to clear their training time and tri toys through thier sig o's. Whereas us single folk do what & buy what we want when we want. I think we win on that metric!

Dating Story

I met this woman once,  and we dated for awhile, then we got married.  And we lived happily ever after ... oh but I did not meet her through the forum and she does not swim or bike or run!?!  What was I thinking of??????

The End

Oh, trust me, I totally don't mind being single. Except for certain *ahem* benefits of being non-single.

I've got quite a few toys this year that otherwise would not have. And the training when I want, certainly is nice too. No need to ask permission to go on a 4 hour bike ride. :D

I agree, being single is the way to go...if you can find ways around the *ahem* benefits. Just think, what would Christmas be like this year if I had to buy for a woman? That money is much better spent on toys for me...

That reminds me, I encourage everyone to get involved in something to help the kids this year. I have been working with our local Jaycees club on Angel Trees so that local kids will have something to open on Christmas day. It's not a lot, but it's better than nothing. Doing something selfless gives you that warm feeling...kind of like having a significant other...ok wait, maybe it's a bit different...

guvna, you are so right about helping out at Christmas. It's funny that you mention Angel tree because I have been picking an angel out for 4 years now. I love doing it. I always pick a kid who wants a bike so that I can buy it for them (I buy the helmet and everything), perhaps in hope that they will be future triathlete or at least athletic. Kids these days spend way too much time on the comp and video games rather than getting outside.

Dudes, this is so not the attitude to have if you truly want to find someone. Is this a sour grapes deal?

(Sorry Chris. I'm not targeting you solely, really!)

Wow! That's an awesome idea. Where are these Angels you pick out? Sorry, I REALLY don't get out much....

That's a great idea! I will have to think about that next year. This year we already did an adopt-a-family type of program.

The Salvation Army puts up Christmas trees with angels (names of kids with their clothing sizes and toy they want) usually at the mall; and in my town's case, the Wal-Marts as well. All you do is pick a child, buy the stuff and then return it by the assigned date. They'll give you all the info.
