Beth,

Have the antibitics kicked in for you to start feeling better yet?

they have and I do

still dragging a bit, but what do you expect after flying halfway across the country this morning, right?

That travel has to really whack things up for you.  It may only be an hour time difference, but the repeated stress of changing your internal clock with these flights hass to take a toll somewhere.

Best thing might be to try to go to bed and get up at the same time regardless of what timezone you are in...cant have beth always tired!

LOL

good point -

I was ofered the job with the insurance company!

Offer is okay but not fabulous money--however there are NO weekends, holidays, mandatory stupid meetings, on call or drunken jerks in this picture so it's well worth it!

yaaaay! so this is a good thing, right????

You better believe it!  I have worked weekends for 30+ years if you count from when I started working at the nursing home in high school.

The speaker for that mandatory thing was good but I just don't think all these suggestions are really that practical in the hospital (particularly ER) setting.  They're going to start som mandatory 10 minute "team huddle" BS starting next week  at the beginning of each shift.  HA, a consistent time for each shift to do that huddle?  We have NO CONTROL over what rolls into the department and WHEN it rolls in--can be quiet now and crazy in the next 5 minutes with the proverbial line at triage or squads rolling in...

Sounds like you are getting out at a good time. So when do you start?
April 7.  I work this week, have vacation the following wek, go back for one more week and start the new job after my 10K race (and 2 weeks before the half mary)

that is awesome Judi!!!!

Aww, green, my absolute FAVORITE color...and glittery too Thanks, TinkerBeth

Nibbies!

Cat - Sickness is not allowed. Tell those icky bacteria/viruses to go elsewhere. (Preferably to an uninhabited planet.)

Judi - CONGRATULATIONS!

Pam - How's the leg? Is it a muscle?

TinkerBeth - I see you made it back to PA - despite not having a reservation....

Lynne - Welcome to Nibbs!

Heather - Congratulations on the new bike!

Sal - Um, I know you were here, but I can't remember what you said. Did it involve cheesecake?

Uh.... what else did I miss? I see we're THIN again.

But of course, we need to celebrate!  You and Jen will have rocked out this weekend with Shamrock and I'll be thinking about tapering for Dismal Swamp...

At least it's only an hour difference.... That would be tougher to do if she was commuting to CA.

Um, but which hour advantage should she pick? The NE time, or the PA time?

Beth: "zzzzzzzzzzz"
Beth's boss: "Why are you sleeping? It's 9 AM."

Versus:

Beth: "It's midnight. Why aren't I sleeping?"
Clock: "Because it's only 11 PM. Just think, you can get on Nibbs for another hour!"

Hello Lynne!

I momentarily had you confused with Jen - who is also sporting a yellow peep - although after closer inspection

Jen's peep has glitter

well, anyway - welcome to nibbs
