Yup, I had a 5:30-6:30 AM masters swim, a 30 mile ride for later today and need to fit those push/pulls in somewhere.  Before the bike ride I think.  The loop I'll be riding tonight takes me through a state park so maybe I'll ride there, stop and do the pushups/pullups (using a tree), and continue the rest of the ride.  I don't want to have to stop off at the gym for 20 minutes just to use the pullup bar.  I need to get one in my garage.

Day 3, Week 1 done for me, too!  The first two days were kind of easy ; Day 3 ...not so much!   "Z" my reps almost match yours exact: 15, 13, 10, 10, 24

I haven't even looked at Week 2 yet.  I guess I should    Actually I have a Sprint on Saturday morning, so I am going to start Week 2 on Monday and try to get back to the Mon, Tues, Friday schedule.

So far this has been a lot of fun.  Call me crazy, but I can feel my core getting stronger already.

12/12/10/10/53

Betsy did 52, so I had to do one more

I only did 50 yesterday, just goofing around, and I did have Betsy do lots and lots of push ups at boot camp  last night (190 total), otherwise she would of kicked my butt today!...maybe

Boy I guess I haven't posted results so far this week...

Week 2, Day 2 for all my stuff....
Pushups - 16, 13, 11, 11, 56 = 107
Pullups - 16, 13, 11, 11, 21 = 72
Thrusters - 16, 13, 11, 11, 23 = 74

I feel myself getting stronger as I progress thru the plan.  This is really cool!

Today I will do my Week 2 test.  Both pushups and pullups.

I have to beat 74 in the pushups test and 32 in the pullups test to know I've gained some strength.

This has been pretty fun so far!  Really enjoying the benefits that this challenge has brought!

Dude!  60 on the max round on Day 1?  You don't even NEED this challenge!! Nice work Steve!

Oh yeah I guess I should update...

Test results...max pushups 77...3 more than before I started.  Max pullups 34...2 more than before I started.  Good improvements, but I thought I'd be a little better than that.

Week 3, Day 1 of the pushups challenge was good.  25, 17, 17, 15, 55...I'm satisfied with that.

But Week 3, Day 1 of the pullups...well, rounds 1 thru 4 were ok, but let's just say I didn't get to 25 on round 5.  I only got thru 12 and my arms just stopped working.  I don't think I'm gonna adhere to the minimum on the max round for the pullups.  I'll be stuck at Week 3, Day 1 forever if I do that.

I tested on Sunday at 32 pushups. Yesterday I did Week1 Day1, 10, 10, 8, 6, 25.  So far so good. Thats 59 in a 5 minute period. I have done 100 spread throught an entire day before, but this is going to be exciting.

I did week 3, day 1 yesterday.  It's a lot harder than the first two weeks!!  I managed to do 20 for my "test".  I could only do 5 for my first one two weeks ago, so I am definitely improving.

Thanks for the props Jeff.

I am trying something different. I jumped to week five, day one. I hit the minimum on the "max" set. I figured by jumping then I'll get pushed harder, but will be able to repeat workouts if I can't hit the minimum on the "max" set.

I've been doing push-ups steadily for 15 years (Army stuff). I've been able to hit 100 at a couple of times and have done different types. This is a solid program.

Here's one technique that has helped me get big improvements in the past. It's all about overload and pushing yourself. Occassionally, on the last set go until you can't do any more, rest without putting your knees down, do more, etc. When you are absolutely smoked then go to your knees. Go until you can't push any more. Then get someone to assist you on your knees for some more.

I'm seeing some progress.  At the start of week 1 my max was 18.  Now at the end of week 4  I'm up to 36.

I've seen some great improvements this week.  At least on the pushups.  Pullups...eh...doin okay, nothing special.

Week 4, Day 1 saw 27, 20, 20, 17, 65.  I'm getting pretty confident that I'll get to about 85 on the test this weekend!

WTF?!? My max hit 50 last night. And I'm not even feeling 100%. I felt one of my pushups near the end wasn't what it should have been so I did that one over. I cant wait to retest this weekend. Maybe I can double my original test, which I think was 32.

OK folks...Week 5 is HARD!!!!

So here I am thinking, oh I'll get thru all of this with no problem.  I did 82 pushups in my test this past weekend so I'm getting close to 100, but then I started Week 5.

40+32+30+25+at least 40.  HOLY HELL.

The first 40 weren't too bad, I could feel myself getting a bit tired at the end.  Then only a minute and 32 more...this was hard.  Then another minute and 30...by 20 I was toast.  I wasn't sure I'd get thru 25, much less the 40+ at the end.  The 25 set wasn't too bad, although I slowed WAY down between 18 and 25.  The last set at the end took almost 90 seconds to complete...it was very very slow.  I only got thru 16 or so before I had to slow down and ration my energy so I didn't fail before 40.  I got thru the 40, but no energy to do even one more after that.

Week 5 Day 2 is today...I'm scared.

Is it too late to join this challenge? Sounds like pain and fun. If not, I'll do my initial tonight and start week 1 on Monday.

Never too late!  I don't think it's a timed thing anyway, not an "official BT challenge"...

Good luck!  Be sure to keep us informed!

I am in!  I will start tomorrow.  I did an initial test today ironically and was able to do 6 before I had to scoot back to work.  I will start with level 2, and I am excited to see how this goes for me!

I made it through Week 5 at level 3. It's getting tough!

I had to push day 2 back a workout because I did "Tabatas" on Monday. Tabatas are a popular workout in crossfit. It's 20 seconds of work, 10 seconds of rest; 8 sets. You give everything you have in the 20 seconds. By the last set I was on my knees for most of the set. It was definitely a smoker though!
