Hi team!

Looks like I need to change my avatar....  Edited to say:  done!

I've only got 1 stage (out of 12) done thus far but I'm planning on 2 more stages tomorrow and Thursday, so fear not!  I'll get it done.

Don't worry, I'm right there with you. First stage tonight, followed by 2-3 more this week.

Stage 1 down - 40 minutes of hell pure joy!

I learned one thing tonight - I still suck at hills!

Tonight was the first time I had gotten yelled at by a motorist. It was a car full of teenagers of course! I just smiled and waved, knowing that I probably would have did the same thing 8 years ago.

We all hate hills.  You only get better with training.  They still suck, but just less.  Actually, I love passing people with $5K bikes decked out in the best of everything.  Ok so, I'm a child.  :-)

Just remember you're getting stronger with every hill.  We're all behind you! GO GO GO!

I got my third stage in today.  It was tough.  It was 107 today and I swam in the morning.  I normally do a outdoor spin class (we all bring trainers and bike together at a local sports store---Sports Basement).  It was just way too hot and they canceled the class.

So, I biked on my trainer for a fricken hour in my basement.....

Well, stage 3 isn't going to happen today.  My vacationers are leaving this morning and I had hoped to get a ride in this afternoon, but I have a friend who is visiting in town this week and tonight is the only night we can get together.  So stage 3 is postponed until tomorrow.

Damn, 107?! Where are you from? It's just starting to break the 90s here (although it's humid as hell).

Hi team!

Well, as promised, stage 2 done today.  27.62 miles with wind and hills.  I believe it's my second-longest ride ever (no laughing!  up til now I've only ever done sprint tris and where we lived in PA was NOT conducive to riding - now in CO I think I'll be getting lots of good long rides in).  Anyhow...I may have to up my time goal as I've already got about 1/3 of it done.  Stay tuned on that.  Also, I can update the spreadsheet myself - I've just forgotten up til now!

Stage 4 done although I fell short 14 km of the distance I was supposed to ride.  It was 36 km of pure joy hell.  It was freakin' windy and one the better roads I had planned to ride on was closed for bridge repairs.  That alone threw a major wrench in my plans.  The other thing is that I rode the roadie and it didn't feel good at all; I think I would have done a lot better on the tri bike.

Oh well, I'll console myself with a burrito... with cheese!

It looks like we're all on our way to a great first week!  I've got my bike on the back of my car, and as long as work isn't too dreadful today I should get stage 3 in this afternoon.  Have a great day everyone!
