yep, and many poeple simply go faster because its a race.

eihter way, still much more tame than an open water swim.

Hey, guys. It looks like this tri is now NOT happening. Guess I'm gonna do the Flying Pig afterall.

COLUMBUS, OH – The much anticipated 2nd annual Ohio State Triathlon scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd has been postponed to a TBA date due to on-going pool construction that will not be completed by the May 3rd race date. Anyone currently registered will receive a full refund. Please contact [email protected] for all the details on how to request a refund. Refunds will be processed in 2-3 weeks.

Just my luck, oh well, now to decide from Miami or a new one Coffman YMCA Triathlon, Springboro, OH on May 9th. The Coffman is the 1st annual, might be neat to be part of the first race.

for those that are looking fora diff race, do miami, its a fantastic race (prob one of my top 3 fav). anyone that is needing to come through columbus to get there myself and a few others have all talked about carpooling from there down to the race to save costs.

Kris, if you're a lady (Sorry I can't tell. That's my mom's name and we have a guy friend that spells his name that way), there is a great tri for women called Tri for the Cure in Columbus on 6/27. I did it last year, its inaugural year, and it was fabulous. I'll be doing it again this year and as a first race, I highly, highly, highly recommend it.

I haven't done that tri, but I hear it's good. I did do the Toyota at Deer Creek last year which I really loved. Same lake and same race company as Deer Creek.

It's a great race. I highly recommend it. The only thing is it can be a very hot course. The run offers no shade at all.

Deer creek was my first OLY distance race ever (last year). It was nice except for the shade thing (although it was freakishly hot that day as well). Lotsa first timers, lotsa people from this board good place to get your feet wet and then into cycling shoes and then into running shoes.

I am a member at the Coffman YMCA (it is in springboro a suburb just south of Dayton). It initially started off as a kids only deal but now it will have a little bit of everything. I am not sure how they are going to handle the kids divisions and the adults as far as start times,volunteers,etc. The pool is a 25 yard pool with 8 lanes so I imagine it will be an up and down each lane kinda swim (we do have a waterslide,maybe they will incorporate that!). I dont know where they will be biking- that area has a quite a bit of traffic on four and two lane roads. The run will probably be through the neighborhood that sits next to the YMCA. One of the indoor cycling instructors is doing a triathlon class every friday night to get people acclimated to swimming,biking and running.

I'm also going to the women only Suzy Koeman one, though the run times scare me. I'll be first out of the water, middle of the pack on the bike, and dead last on the run. Bleh.

Hey, Teresa, I'll be doing that one, too. I did it last year as my first tri and I can't wait to see if I can move up from 207/217 to 206/217! Here's a link to my RR if you want some inside info. PM me if you have any questions about it.
