Must be Team Resolution pool day ! I was also in the water this morning for a light workout . Our Pool was extra (but not too much) busy with new swimmers . Many of them quite fast. This seemed to help my stroke as i was trying to keep up .
Run on tap for tomorrow . Edited by van_paulus 2009-01-13 10:28 AM |

Great job on the run and bike today.Just got back from a quick run and a cool down spin on the gym bike today . Swim & hockey on tap for tomorrow. And 10 mile TT this saturday. Its called Ben's Ten . The event is run in 3 waves with 10 mins between them . You go by estimated completion time . Group 1 is 80 mins and over , group2 is 70 to 80mins , and group 3 is sub 70mins. Slowest go first so i will be running there and hopefully not get passed too much in the last miles . Its flat & all on bike trails so good pavement , no traffic lights and no hills except for short underpasses and slight inclines. X2! |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Today was supposed to be a swim day for me. Inbetween meetings I was going to go to the pool. Got out to my car and no swim bag. It is still sitting at home on the kitchen table all packed and ready. Bummer. So I did 3 miles around the park instead. Now to cool down and not look sweaty at my 7pm presentation. |

The back of my car looks like a homeless shelter with all the gear i keep in there. And yet i forgot two things in the last 2 weeks.

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Hey gang, a question has come up on another thread, and I wanted to throw it out there for general discussion, which I will accept or ignore depending on how many mint chocolate GUs I receive in the mail. I've been giving a lot of thought to the 30% cutoff. I think I'm going to drop it entirely. I like cutoffs because they weed out the people who are no longer doing the challenge. But with the nature of a lot of people's goals, you just might not be at 30% yet. Also, I didn't expect so many people to have so many goals when I first set up the challenge. So I'm going to take a look at the spreadsheets on Sunday after the second week is done and see if there is any obvious pattern. If there is someone not participating at all, I'll likely drop them. But as long as you are participating, I want everyone to keep chipping away at their goals. As I said before, I don't really care what percentage you get done, I want to see people really challenging themselves to grind through their workouts during good times and bad. Remember, let me know in some form if you are upping your goals, either on here or in a PM. Raising the bar is a big part of what I look at in the standings, so I definitely want to know what's going on. Lemme know what you think. And don't forget the GUs. |

It's more about running in the dark... That is just depressing. I actually got a headlight for X-Mas, so I really don't have any excuses anymore... Other than "just not feeling it"! And what still need to happen for the first time to me, is just running without thinking about the route, just keep on going.... Because so far, I am still glad when it's over! Did my morning swim already and I am happy with it.... I am looking forward to start taking classes next month, but I really feel like my endurance is getting somewhere! Happy Thursday.... I am still in month's close hell, so wish me luck! |

Good luck ! Running at 645am can be quite nice as one can see the sky change colour and witness the sunrise . Plus it gets a little warmer .

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Okay team. My swimming is not going to happen this week. I'll have to make up the time there when I get back from the weekend trip to the west coast to see the grandkids. All four of them. All my other areas are up to speed. I'll do the bike again tomorrow and then will just run while away and will log those either while i'm there or when I get back. Not sure how much time I will get on a computer while out there. So have a great long weekend everyone. |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution HI team! I'm a little off on my training this week because of some viral crud I picked up but hope to get back on track this weekend or next week at the latest. The story about forgetting your swim stuff reminded me of a story a friend told about her favorite spinning instructor. I guess this woman was really built and ran a very tough, popular class. My friend told me that about half way through the class the instructor was getting so overheated she decided to ride in just her workout bra and shorts, after stripping off her cycling jersey she realized she was wearing her heart rate monitor but no bra....oops. It seems a few had trouble focusing on their workouts after that! Hope you all have a great weekend. |

I can generally train through a head cold, but this one has settled in the chest. I'm going to hit the trainer for a very low intensity ride this morning and hope to pick up more volume and intensity over the weekend. I'm not sure if being in that class would have been good or bad! It would have provided a good story for the forums about an injury from wrecking on a spin bike! |

So i have had to dig out bodyglide out of my wetsuit bag to prevent this. Ouch! That happened to my BIL when we were training for a marathon a couple of years ago. I didn't notice it and just got in the car and drove home after the run. He went into the Y to change and the looks he got as he was walking through the lobby had him wondering until he got into the locker room and looked in the mirror. He had a white shirt on as well! |

Master 2146 East Side of the Bay | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Resolution Feeling a little better today so got out for 4 miles. Started to get a little chilly so I didn't push it (it was sunny but 16*). I am changing my schedule to 2 shorter runs this weekend rather than my first ever 10 miler. With this viral thing I don't think 10 would do me much good. I figure I'll do the same number of miles just split it up. I'm also hoping to catch up on some swim minutes but that might be tricky given my Y is hosting a swim meet. We'll see when I get up tomorrow! Hope everyone has a great weekend. |
