Thanks- I always wanted to be the blue power ranger when I was little! And, yep, he is indeed. I wonder who started that rumor ... I checked with him last night, to see if the quote in your sig was from him. I figured it had to be, but when I made my account I wasn't positive which username he had on this site. It's his fault I'm here . Most of me thinks that a triathlon is waaay outside my grasp (he got most of the family's athletic inclinations!!) but there's another part that goes to his races and thinks "that looks like fun!!" I'm sure the thought of trying to race would never so much as cross my mind if not for him! |

"NO SOUP FOR YOU!" I think that is from one of the first seasons, but I could be wrong. I love that show. I watch re runs all the time. I caught the blood episode last weekend on some channell....so funny but SOOOO gross. I really hope this weather stops before I have to bike. Otherwise who will need to swim, my bike will count AS my swim... |

Elite 3067 Cheesehead, WI | Subject: RE: The Power Rangers Hey have any of you done an early season tri - aka when it's cold? (um, Alaska probably has that happen often!). Anyhow... I have one early June and it will likely be warm out but it can be 80 or 60 depending on things and the big issue is lake h20 temps. Wondering if I should bother wearing my wetsuit for a sprint ... may waste too much time coming into T1. (or I could just sign up for the longer route) |

(or I could just sign up for the longer route) I would go with the longer route and wear the wetsuit. time permitting I am hitting one or two of my local Tri-shops this weekend (tried to last weekend but that so didn't happen) to get my first wetsuit. I want as much practice in it prior to June 20th... |

The buoyancy and less drag will make up for any time lost in T1, provided you practice taking off the wetsuit--it can come off in seconds. |

Thanks Yanti - that is the 20 million dollar question - can I take it off faster than I did during my Oly last summer. BTW, that transition was worthy of winning the Funniest Home Video. I was bobbling all over, finally sat (fell) over and took off the legs... OY! |

Never met her but have shared some inspires and she makes me smile. Now that you have your HRM, you will certainly gain some keen awareness of your body/workout connection. |

My coldest swim was a pre season OWS practice where air and water were about equal at 50's. I didn't last long. Have that next week with the tri club too. I raced in NY a couple years ago and had it wet suit legal in August...same place I'll be this August too. That lake owes me a good swim! |
