can i play too?! i have lost about 6-8 lbs since last summer, and cut my body fat down.  right now i hover around (i think) 13%.  the lowest i have seen my weight in the last month is 143 or 144, but i have been consistently around 145-146.  i would like to get down to 10%, where i can see my abs a bit better.  i will get a pic up when i can - hopefully soon!  i don't so much care about losing weight - 145 is good, but i would like to lose that fat, which means maybe down to 140ish.

diet is definitly the toughest for me - eating out, drinking beer on weekends, etc. etc.

I struggle with food when I'm babysitting. The kids eat junk, so I feel like I can eat it too. ughhh...

Same problem here, I stay at home with my girls when I'm not on shift.  I mostly feed them healthy foods, but now and then... you know.

Well as I said before, got a race coming up on Sunday, so no attempts to lose weight this week.

My weight loss weeks will be sporadic and slow.   Like 1-2 lbs a month, maybe a bit quicker in September after my last MTB Race and before the fall running race season begins.

I was at 144.0 this morning and 35% body fat (compared to 36% last week).  My body fat percentage can fluctuate daily between 33-36% so it will be somewhat difficult to tell when there REALLY is some fat loss.  I am not going to take new measurements until the end of the seven weeks, but if my clothes start falling off, I think that will be a clue that I have lost some of my hips.

I have been doing the Zone diet faithfully since Monday and mostly right for the last ten days.  It is supposed to target belly fat, so we will see.

I assume we are to update the spreadsheet ourselves and I have done so.

I am doing the triathlon training for weight loss but I am in the gym 5 times a week pounding out weights to put on some lbm and get shredded. I am 6'5" and I still need to lost some poundage. I am not sure on what my bf% is but I hope to find out in the next couple weeks using a pod to get a true accurate measure. I am still researching and saving to buy a road bike but I am training on a mountain bike currently.

So I finally got in my gym where they have a BF calculator.  I'm at 25% (lower than I expected!).

I think my goal is to get to 20%, but I don't know if that's reasonable for me in 6 weeks - it may take a bit longer.

I'm a very slow loser - it took me 2 years of calorie counting, being very picky of what I ate, and exercising at least 5 days/week to lose 60 lbs.

But I wasn't training for a tri, teaching aerobics, and doing weights twice/week then - so we'll see if I can make it go any faster :-p

Oh, Geez...there goes the anonymity of the web!!!  (JK)  I'll post my pics soon, as long as Mike doesn't tell anyone!!

I found the spreadsheet and logged in.

I'm going to get my BF checked with calipers sometime in the next few weeks, then I probably won't check it until the end.  My goal is to see my abs.

To everyone in the group, here's some tips to measure your progress:

-Weight your self in the morning before your workout, your water is stable at this time
-Use caliper instead of electric scale for accuracy when measuring the body fat%, also do it with the same person who measure you before
-When measuring your size, do it on cold measurement which is the day you're not working out
-Take pictures regularly (mug shot pose + back)

Be mindful that your body weight will be fluctuating in during daytime, don't freak out when this happens. Just remember to measure it at the same time as you do it last time.

Good luck!

PM me if you have questions.

This is VERY important - especially for those who have never really tried to lose weight.  Not only can your weight fluctuate sometimes up to 5lbs throughout the day, but for you daily weighers, it can fluctuate day-to-day too!  The most accurate picture is to only weigh yourself once/week - of course some of us have to know, and we weigh ourselves more often.  There's nothing wrong with that - just keep in mind that a day or two up doesn't necessarily mean you're gaining weight...

**speaking from my experience - I realize everyone is going to be different....**

Is it too late to get in on this? I have been doing a monthly pic for body fat assessment since December, but have been lacking in the motivation department the last few months. This might give me the extra motivation I need! Here is my most recent pic.

My lips are sealed, Mike, although, I'm not sure you have much more to lose!!  Do you know you can get bf measured at the gym for free (with calipers)?
