skrtrnr - 2009-09-03 9:33 AM speaking of swimming....
has anyone read/watched/use the TOTAL IMMERSION materials to work on their swim.
i just started.
im wondered what worked, what didnt, how you liked it, what you didnt like, what you learned?
id love to hear any feedback, positive or negative.
im not 100% sold, but what they suggest makes a lot of sense.
anything to improve.

Hi Stacie. I used TI to completely rework my stroke. When I started, I swam with my head above the water
(that's what I learned in a lifesaving class 40 years ago
) and would be out of breath after 25 meters. My progress was slow, but I will also admit that I did not spend much time doing the drills. I'm now able to do 1500 meters continuous and am starting to feel much more relaxed in the water.
(I only wish I felt this way on Aug 23 when I did my first triathlon
).
I suggest you get the "Feestyle Made Easy" DVD. If you can work it out, it is probably best to take the TI class and/or find a TI instructor to work with.

DAN. thanks so much for the feedback....of the three tri sports, ive found swimming to be the most minute in incremental progress, so i hear ya on the slow progress.
but to go from an out of breath 25 meters to continuous 1500 thats INCREDIBLE progress.
relaxation in the water from everything i read is super duper key.....
thanks for the recommend on the DVD, especially the title of a specific one to choose. theres just so many swim videos out there, i didnt want to waste my money...
and id love love love to take a TI class or find an instructor...unfortunately neither are in my area.....yet.
again, thanks for the feedback, i really appreciate it!
