Hey everyone, this is Tom! Thanks for having me on the team. I'll get my goals onto the spreadsheet this afternoon if my work computer will let me.

Here's a little about me: I'm living and working in the San Diego area right now and am looking forward to actually being in town this winter (I'm in the Navy) to enjoy the year round opportunities here. I greq up in Minnesota and went to college at Iowa State (what part of town are you in Neal?) so I know what it's like to be stuck in the gym all winter.

I'm still definitely a tri-beginner, mostly because I still don't have a bike. I plan to fix that as soon as possible though, and am hoping to get several events in next year. In the mean time I'm looking to continue building my running base as I get ready for a local half-marathon in January. That will be my longest distance ever, and I'm pretty excited about it.

Oh, and FWIW, "Show Us Your Ghoulies" gets my vote because it makes me laugh too.

For me it is baked ziti out of the freezer warmed up  in the oven while I pick my son up from Swim practice and drop my daughter off at dog training class.  Every one eats on a different schedule tonight!  But baked ziti is not so bad, glad I put some in the freezer.

You are amazing for planning on a big ol bike ride and run all in the same weekend!  I would have said, "nah, I'll watch football on Sunday"

Take care of yourself!  You have two days to get rid of that cold!  We wouldn't want you not to be able to run in October.  Wink

Really, I hope you feel better soon.

I just got a road bike as well.  Up until now I've been using my hybrid as the excuse for why I'm so slow.  Won't have that excuse next season.  I like to ride, even though I stink.  I just say hi to all the people passing me and enjoy the scenery.

Let the food talk begin!  Having leftover penne with brocolli, asparagus and feta.  My kitchen reeks of garlic.  For that matter, most likely so do I.   Hmmm.  Will need to sweat that out in the pool tomorrow morning before going to work.  Which brings up an interesting question....Do you sweat while swimming? Probably not.

You actually do, but of course it washes away...I am not sure if it is true, but I heard somewhere that you sweat more in the pool then you would playing a basketball game.

Hi Tom!  I just moved from downtown to the north side in pretty much a brand new development.  I love it here because I'm only a half mile away from the county roads that I do all my bike training on.

My sister lived in San Diego the last 2 years.  It was always nice to come and visit during January when things are brutal here.

Makes sense I guess.  I always sweat when I get out of the pool so I've always assumed that I'm sweating during the swim.
