Middle school Christmas concert.....why oh why do they put the sixth grade orchestra on first?  Those kids STINK!  The choirs were great and the mixed 7th/8th grade orchestra was awesome but those sixth graders HURT the head!

The choir director came off the stage to correct the 7th graders who were acting up....I have the feeling their class tomorrow will be unpleasant....

It makes sense to do that so as to end the concert with the better sounding programs.  *squeek squawk squonk wheeeezzzzz honk bam*

It's weird that they divide the orchestra up by grade instead of ability.  I feel bad if there are 6 graders that already know how to play and stuck with a group of people who don't.

I don't think that any of these kids had played before.  I think in VA the only "instrument " played in elementary school level is the recorcer so all of it is new to the middle schooler.

I took clarinet from the 4th or 5th grade in NY and R did flute in 4th grade when we were in PA.

Weird.  I started violin in kindergarten.  I was taking private lessons by 2nd grade.  My sis started piano in 3rd grade even though it wasn't offered at school.  One bro started sax in 3rd grade, other drums in 3rd.  Guess we were lucky!

I just found out that the local Luna Chix tri team is taking apps for next year.  I sent an email requesting one, but today is the deadline.  I would really love to be part of their group.  I have done some group workouts with them and really enjoyed the group's dynamics.  It is most likely too late.    We will see...

I was emailed an app a little while ago and am working on it.  I so dislike applications.

I dislike questionaires, forms, any sort of paper work.  blech!

I need to get this one done tonight!

Hi Nibbs!  Anyone around tonight?

I'm knitting. Almost done with one mitten for my sister for Christmas. I just have to finish one thumb.  And of course, the other mitten.

I just pulled up Weather.com, and freaked out when I saw the temperature was EIGHT DEGREES!

After momentary heart failure, common sense prevailed - as there's no way it could POSSIBLY be 8 degrees here.

Yeah. The page was showing the temperature in Celsius. I hit the button to convert it, and instantly felt much better when it went up to 46 F.

Well is still officially the 4th here and the Luna Chix application is done.  I emailed it to the head gal.

It may have been too late because I got an email at 6pm from MedusaAnn (she is on the team) that was due 'Now' at 6pm.  I received the app in an email at 5:15 and there was no mention of a 6pm deadline, just the 4th.  Hopefully it isn't to late because I just spent the last 5.5 hours filling it out.  Did I mention that I hate applications?
