If it rains, put a little less pressure in your tires, slow down and stay away from the yellow and white stripes.  Just be cautious and you should be fine.  Everyone will be in the same situation as you.

rode last night in a similar wind... if it continues, it will be nice on the ride back toward T2... not perfect, but better than ESE...

Sunday is looking good... c'mon Mother Nature hold it together!

A tailwind coming back from San Luis pass would be awesome, I would much rather get the headwind portion overwith.

Check out the surf forecast too. The SURF & MARINE FORECAST (about mid ways down the page) gives a good outlook on what they predict this weekend will be like.

"High pressure will move into the area today giving us a light offshore flow for the remainder of the afternoon. A developing low pressure system will move into place Wednesday night and will eventually lead to light to moderate onshore flow through Friday which according to most swell models will give us some thigh to waist high surf by Friday afternooon. We may have a few rideable waves as early as Thursday but Friday into Saturday looks a little better and here is why, a Pacific cold front will move off the coast Saturday around mid-day with light to moderate WNW winds... So, right now Saturday might be kind of interesting if all this comes together… Either way we should have a few rideable waves by week’s end so stay tuned and we will keep you informed…"

My question is this; Are light winds for surfers the same as light winds for bikers?  Oh man.....

    Wind for Sunday!

The wind forcast for Sunday looks like a complete tailwind coming back to T-2. This sits well with me.

x2...looks like we are pretty much screwed, should clear up right when its over and be nice the rest of the weekend though. Perfect. Not sure what decision I will make Saturday morning if this holds true, but I may have to sit out my first tri

I've put in a request to Mother nature to either slow the system down, or speed it way up.  We'll be fine. .  You ought to go for it. Worse case, they cancel the swim and make it a du.  You'd have just that much more to tell about your first tri!

I've been checking a couple of different forecasts, and they aren't the same.  So, it's just too early to get too bummed yet.

We will definitely have wind, it's just which direction will it come from.  If it's directly from the South, then we will have a crosswind the entire ride. If it truns from the SW, as one forecast has it, then we'll have a tail wind heading back, which would be nice.

Stay positive Saturday racers!  I don't think it will be as bad as it may seem!     40% of showers/T-Storms... but that's 60% it's not... just sayin'.     No sittin' out!   you may have to slow down a bit, but it can still be fun!

btw, mademille... Palm Springs huh?  my wife lived in Yucca Valley and has family in DHS, PS, Riverside, and Yucca.  We go back from time to time... the desert has it's own unique beauty, smells and cool factor!  oh and Joshua Trees    Ha!  Good luck on Saturday!  Hang tough, you got this!

    This is from NOAA

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind around 15 mph becoming west. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 66.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 78.

We know the government NEVER lies!!  You Saturday racers will be just FINE!!

I love it there, but the economy is much better here! I do miss the endless sunshine and mountains though!

If everyone is following USAT rules then you shouldn't have to worry about being a danger to others.

So I'm actually starting to think a little rain might not be a bad thing...

When someone asks me what my time was (which will most likely be pitifully slow, rain or not) I can always say, "well, ya know, I really couldn't go very fast because of the wet roads" (they don't need to know that I never go very fast!)

you'll do great no matter what!  my son suggested that i may be eaten by shark, then came back with "you're too big and fast in the water and they pick off the small slow ones".  i think this was intended to be nice!!  there aren't sharks in offats anyway!
