Elite 4583 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! Don't feel too bad Trevor, it took me a week before I could even get through the warm up without stopping! I kicked my own a$$ this morning. Did my run workout first (2X2 mile repeats at race pace w/800m recovery jog) and then Power and Resistance, or whatever the heck it's called. You know, I'm not a priss by any means, but I'm no sailor, either, but there is something about these workouts that get the F bomb flying out of my mouth every few minutes! Today was hard hard hard. |

Last night I made it through the warmup 100% and Im three weeks in Trevor! As you watch some people barely lift thier feet, or keep the pace slow, I noticed and its a way to save energy, dont do it Trevor, stay strong! Im sore again this morning, how can this happen? Im thinking its because Im striving to go higher on my jumps now. How are your workouts treating you, I see you are able to maintain running and Insanity, whats your secret? You have to be in great condition to do what you do, after insanity I need 24 hours because of joint tenderness, if I had to run also I would be a mess! I heard more about the new Insanity, its not supposed to be out until 2011, and will be more sport intervals, harder as in less breaks and allot more intensity, but its not a one on one workout like people were thinking. Sean T. is ripped in this series, looks like he lost about 20 pounds and is shredded. |

New user 16 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! As you watch some people barely lift thier feet, or keep the pace slow, I noticed and its a way to save energy, dont do it Trevor, stay strong! Well I am definitely one of these people. I will try harder to do the moves as suggested. How are your workouts treating you, I see you are able to maintain running and Insanity, whats your secret? You have to be in great condition to do what you do, after insanity I need 24 hours because of joint tenderness, if I had to run also I would be a mess! Let's not get it twisted. I am very sore! After sitting down at work, I feel it everytime I try to stand up. Last night I seriously didn't think I was going to be able to do any of the workout after I tried to do the first jump. It was very tough to push through. After I got warmed up a bit my legs didn't hurt so much. I also have to ice my knees every night after the workout. I had a breakthrough this morning in the pool. While I am super slow, I was able to swim the farthest distance I have ever done today! I am doing a Sprint Tri in May and a Half in July and am really trying to make sure I am able to finish these two events. I was worried about the swim, but I am making good progress and if I keep it up, I will be good to go. I just ordered a bike trainer, it will get here next week. Then I am with you on hitting the bike. I am not sure how I will fit it in to the schedule yet though. So much to do, so little time! Ok, I am onto the Cardio Recovery workout. |

Elite 4583 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! Hope you guys had good workouts today. I am pooped from today's, wondering how to fit in tomorrow's! I'll get it done though. Trevor, I am doing a HIM in June, so my training will start in earnest for that in January. I'll also be ordering a trainer soon...that should be interesting as well. Once I start the tri specific training I don't think I'll be starting another round of Insanity, too hard to fit it all in. I'm hoping this just keeps my fitness up and weight off during the whole holiday season! So far so good! |

New user 16 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! I was bad yesterday. It started out fine, I did my long run and felt really good about it. I then ran some errands and planned on meeting a few friends to see a movie. It was early afternoon so I planned to come back after the movie and get my Insanity on. Well, one thing led to another and the movie was only the beginning of a night out on the town. Needless to say, I didn't get the Insanity done yesterday. On top of that, I veered off my diet. I had a bit to drink, and ate a veggie wrap for dinner, not too bad. But then I had a bit more to drink and ended up eating tacos at about 1am. Then, as if I hadn't already done enough harm, I ordered pancakes for breakfast, but came to my senses when I received them and only ate some of it. Today, as punishment, I have just finished the Pure Cadio and will do the Plyo tonight. |

New user 16 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! Thanks, felt really bad this morning for my transgressions. I tried my best to calculate the calorie intake for yesterday and feel that I didn't do as bad as I had previously thought. Earlier this week I began to feel what I think is the beginning of shin splints. I have had them before and have been really careful as I build my running mileage to avoid them. I don't think the shoes I was wearing while doing Insanity were very good for me. So I grabbed a new pair of shoes today, and they feel much better. During the workout I could feel the difference and hope that I can stave off the shin splints. I finished the Plyo, and I am pretty concerned about my ability to walk tomorrow. Wow that workout is intense. Tomorrow I have the day off from Insanity, so I will be doing an easy swim in the morning and then will just rest tomorrow night. Week 1 complete! Elite 4583 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! Hi guys! Trevor, my eating was off this weekend too, but I'm back on the wagon today. I think the important thing is to just get back on track and not dwell on yesterday, know what I mean? I went out on a long mountain bike ride + run Saturday morning--I was out for about 3 hours. I meant to do Insanity later in the afternoon, but I was pooped! Yesterday I totally wimped out, but today I paid for it! 4:15am: 45 minute run 5:00am: Insanity Pure Cardio + Cardio Abs I sweat off all my weekend transgressions! Ha! I will probably skip the recovery day and do Plyos to make up for missing my Saturday workout. |

Modesto, California | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! I know with the Holidays comming up now is my chance to loose the weight, so that is my focus. I know it will be difficult to avoid some foods mainly when I am a guest or at family, but my motto is if Im going to stray from my diet better to do it with protien. Protien keeps me full and reduces my cravings and less likely to get stored as fat. For Holloween I will do my woorkout and fix a giant recovery shake that is sweet with some frozen fruit but mostly protien, I won't want any candy as I pass it out. Loosing weight means everything to me since allot of the guys I race with are 135-145 and in cycling strength to weight ratio is huge. I know the reality is that I will have bad days but as long as I have focus and goals I am more likely to follow through. This morning I did Pure cardio & Abs, Abs will take me a few more times to get it, my abs are so weak! Im doing 2 a days on Mon/Wed/Fri so I can bike in the evenings with Jorges Bike Program. Well, except for tonight because of a team meeting. As soon as I finish Insanity I will start P90x+ so I can add more strength during Base training for cycling. Insanity has been a blessing for me in that it has energized me from a long race season, I really enjoy the workouts. |

New user 16 | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! Kim, I have no idea how you are able to come in from a run and go straight to insanity. That is impressive. Also, I am pretty sure my alarm clock does not function at 4am let alone me. Nevergivin, I can't wait until I have the love for these insanity workouts that you do. Right now they feel more like doing laundry. I don't love doing it but know that it is just one of the things you need to do. I am not going to be a happy camper when the two of you are done and I am suffering alone. Have a great day. Trevor |

My workout today: 1X1200 race pace (400 RI) 2X800 cruise interval (200 RI) 4X200 sprint (200 RI) Insanity Power and Resistance I'm liking running first and then Insanity second. The warmup actually gives me a chance to cool down a bit, if that even makes sense! It's gong to be really interesting to see how following a 1/2 marathon training plan + doing Insanity translates at my Dec. 5 race. I hope it's not overkill. The good thing is I finish the program the week before the HM so I'll have a nice taper week. Trevor...just to make you feel better, I will probably go back to Insanity after my Dec. 5 race just to get through the holidays, so you'll have me for a few more weeks! |

Modesto, California | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! I will doing my workout tonight, Im not scheduled to ride today. Im 5-10 and about 205 now, I was 213 when I started Insanity. When I start racing in April I should be down to 175-180. But the guys I race have no muscle and are thin as rails 135-145 and climb like billy goats. 180 is my usual racing weight. My weight climbed a little too far this year as my training was very inconsistant at best with getting laid off and then comming back and having a serious injury(crash) after that. All I can do at this point is put it all behind and gear up for next year. Insanity has given me allot of motivation , I like the feeling that I get knowing I put it all out and as a result the next day Ill be that much stronger. |

Kim good idea to do a couple more weeks with me. I am going to need all the accountability I can get. No run this morning as it was pretty much a torrential downpour and I was afraid I would get washed away. Not to mention the fact that I had no motivation. Nevergivin, I was looking at Jorge's clycle challenge, but don't know if that would be good for me. What do you think? I am very new to cycling, and am trying to work up the mileage for a HIM in July. My little brother is an insane cyclist (did Latoja last year) and I will be racing with him. I needed that recovery after two workouts yesterday. It felt good to take it easy today! One more day until Friday! Whata Suck! Missed two days in a row, suck part is is I killed myself rushing thinking I would still have a chance to get my workouts in. Last night was the worst, fatality on the freeway shut down traffic 20 miles in all directions, it took me 3.5 hours to drive 25 miles to get home. Hearing the news I even left work early, to make things even worse it was my 9th wedding anniversary and I had planned on stopping to get flowers and make my wife dinner, that didnt happen so I ended up going out very late . I hate eating late , but by this time I was extremely hungry and it was so close to sleep time. I have to be up at 4:30 am. |

I am very competitive and don't like the idea of him beating me in anything! I really want to put up a challenge for him. Thanks, Trevor Its a great program for everyone Trevor, the nice thing is you will set up intervals based on your own ability. The program is power based(power meter) or heart rate based(heart rate monitor) and you will perform tests frequently to set up the intervals, allot of people use a heart rate moniter because of the cost of a power meter, you need one or the other to be in the right zone for each interval. Jorge puts up the workouts weekly so that people have a chance to get organized , these workouts get progressively harder and while testing you will see yourself getting better(endurance, speed, power). There is a forum also to answer questions as some people find it difficult to understand, there is some abbreviations and technical terms that make up the workouts. Each workout has a purpose, a warmup and a cooldown so the cycling time involved is very specific and limited, thats why these are called quality workouts, you will also notice thre are only a few workouts, rest is key when doing this type of training. For me its a chance to enjoy my rides before I get more serious, soon Ill be riding 200+ a week and starting race season. For you it would be a great start for your cycling season and will increase your speed and power. This is sound coaching that Jorge is offering for free, I say take advantage of it. I can also help! Right now people are doing Jorges pre program workouts to ramp up for the program, understand these are not easy workouts if done correctly but read some of the comments other people say that have done the program. The program officially starts Nov 1. |

Expert 803 MD | Subject: RE: Bring on the INSANITY! FWIW - I have a Travel Trac fluid trainer from Performance Bikes. Less expensive than the Cycle Ops trainer and I think it's just as good. There is a Travel Trac + model, also, which currently is on sale cheaper than the standard Travel Trac. The 'plus' is an extra tension control that you can adjust while riding - I found it to be pretty much useless so I wouldn't spend any extra cash for the 'plus' model. I highly recommend a fluid trainer over magnetic. My opinion is that it provides a smoother resistance profile compared to a magnetic resistance trainer. Make sure you get the riser block for the front wheel, also - Performance sells one for 9.99. It levels the bike on the trainer. I see lots of trainers on my local Craigs List. Like treadmills and other exercise equipment, lots of people buy them intending to use them, then end up selling them just to get them out of the basement. Next you'll be looking at Spinnerval DVD's! http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1028827_-1... |
