owl_girl - 2011-07-07 7:02 PM I'm getting ready to do some evening hill climbing on the bike.  I'll climb about 750 feet of elevation in 1.5 miles on the road bike.  The whole hill is 4.5 miles with an elevation gain of 2100 feet.  This hill is my nemesis!  It gets easier as I lose the baby fat, though. Laughing

Holy moly hills!

Back from a run around my street...  trying to figure out which crazy nut has a fire in their fireplace on a night like tonight.  It's gorgeous!

Heading down to the cave in a bit to ride...  I have to wait for hubby to catch up to where I am on the TdF so we can ride and watch together.  Laughing

That is so cool that you guys have the same passion for cycling and ride the trainers together!

Now you're talking my language.  My skinny, little butt loves hill climbs.  Sprinting on the flats, not so much.

I did try swimming and it puts force on the spot too... That's why I might have to cancel the event. I will play it by ear the day before. Who knows, I could go do it without proper training if I'm healed!

Hmm... bummer.  Whatever you decide, be careful.  There will always be more races.

Wow, I should heed my own advice at times.

Yeah, but now that we're done with that stage we're splitting...  He's riding more for the beginning of the next stage and I'm going upstairs to watch it and make him some berry crisp.  Unfortunately, we also share a passion for dessert...  Wink

Wow, toppage here and I just had toppage on my TdF team thread!  What a night!

OK, I'm outta here for the night...  Tomorrow was going to be a rest day but I think it's just going to be a legs rest day.  Hubby is planning on picking up the kids so I can get a swim in.  I need to get a start on that for the month!

Wah hoo!!!!  What a great climb this evening!  I could have kept going!  It's an awesome feeling to feel good while climbing such a daunting hill.  The descent is not much fun, though.  There are lots of twists and turns so you can't get going very fast.

Oh boy!  Sprint tri is next weekend!  I do this race every year.  I just put new tires on my tri bike and it just got a tune up at the bike shop.  Those boys are always trying to get me as fast as possible on that bike.  I wish they would let me "test ride" some race wheels. Laughing

Hmmm ... pizza and beer go along way with bike shop piglets. Pizza even more so, I'd think. Or at least bring a case of beer, a large pizza, and really bat those eyelashes and flash those fast legs ... you never ever know, some new maker of race wheels or some sponsor or SOMEBODY might be wanting a good test case, and some piglet at the shop might know about that.

MMMMM.... pizza and beer!  I wore my "ride like a girl" shirt to the shop when I picked up my bike.  They thought that was funny.

Survived 10K ocean swim. Judi's got it right re. hard as all get out ...

I do not quite remember when I have last felt so awful. Oh, right the Bali tri, but that was only an hour or so of agony after I got hit.

3:30 and a nice 2nd place medal in the books. I am going to pass out now.

Got an awesome ride in outside today.  I had planned on going an out and back 20 miles, but decided to veer off into the countryside.  So glad I did since it was just so quiet and gorgeous out there this morning.  Ended up with a little over 25 miles.  Now I'm off to get my suit off and play in the sprinkler and kids pool!  Tongue out
