Master 1322 Chicago | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I'm on there. Looks like I accidentally listed my actual age and not age at the end of the year, but they are both the same age group, so I suppose it doesn't matter. Right now I'm thinking long and hard how I want to train this entire upcoming year. I'm not really happy with the way training played out this year. Right now I need to focus on weight loss and I need to focus hard. |

Member 24 Middle of Nowhere, Manitoba, Canada | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread Hi everyone! Looking so forward to IM Wisconsin 2012! Name: JR1981 / Janette What is your Ironman resume? IM Canada 2008, IM Wisconsin 2009, IM Louisville 2011 Why did you choose Ironman Wisconsin? Mainly for proximity to home (I live near Winnipeg, MB, Canada) but also because I enjoyed the course so much What are you goals for IMWI 2012? Pretty early for me to say right now, but I would really like to improve my running and (just maybe??!!) beat my 2009 time... What are you most looking forward to? I raced in 2008 with the Cops for Cancer / IronCops group and it was great waving to my teammates/friends on course. After doing the last two IM's without knowing a soul, I can't wait to do this one with my "team" for the added support! Veterans any advice you can give early on? Enjoy each and every moment and maintain a healthy training/life balance! |

Put both our names on active, and it took it... got to the "pay" section.. waited 10 minutes hoping for a sell-out... Here we are !! What are you goals for IMWI 2012? Have a great time training and racing, enjoy the experience. Looking forward to ride the course... What are you most looking forward to? Finishing STRONG!!!! Veterans any advice you can give early on? I'm still a rookie! stick to your race plan !!!! |

Seriously? I lost 30 pounds training for IMWI. I'm kind of looking forward to dropping the weight next spring and summer. |

Seriously? I lost 30 pounds training for IMWI. I'm kind of looking forward to dropping the weight next spring and summer. In the last three months of training for florida I gained 2-3 pounds. When I workout, I am hungry and when I am hungry I don't make smart food choices. |

I just started my off-season prep today and will be back on BT more on a daily basis now. Hope everyone is doing well! I have been in the faily grind all fall. Fell off my bike and injured my shoulder in my first ever cyclocross race, got whooping cough, and overall just seem to get slower and slower! Tried to swim today and my shoulder is AFU. I need the name of a good sports medicine doc in Chicago. Helllllllp! Oh and I am packing on the pounds too. This is not a good start to say the least. Sorry to be a buzzkill... |

Actually me too.... I got back to the gym yesterday, spent the rest of the day stuffing my face. I tend to remain pretty steady during the winter, around 200#. |

Weight loss is a big goal for me this winter - but its SO HARD with all the kids' Halloween candy around, then Christmas comes... yikes! I've made a bet with a guy at work. We are increasing our training by one hour each week on a 4-week rotation (this week is a 7-hour week, next week is our "rest" week) leading up to Christmas. If we don't make our weekly hours, then we buy lunch for the office (5 people). I've also signed up to run a "Hypothermic Half" marathon in February to give me a goal for the winter. |

Ultimately I would like to do a 5 hour marathon and finish in 14 hours or less, however I also signed up to do my first 50 mile run which will be in the middle of April..after that I will start IM training What are you most looking forward to? I love the finish line! I think the thing I am least looking forward to is long hours in the pool since we dont have any place to open water swim. |

Expert 1566 | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I have just gotten back in the swing of things the past two weeks - we recently had our 3rd child on 10/25. Most people think I am nuts for doing IM MOO training with a newborn but I will just have to make it work. I have been dabbling with my Fink Competative plan and simulating some of the workouts trying to keep around 6-8 hours a week until January. It has actually been nice weather here in Chicago (until this week) and have been able to get some decent bike rides in November. chasingkona - 2011-11-07 5:26 PM Is everyone enjoying some off-season time before hoping back into the faily grind? |

Expert 1360 | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread I had my first IM nightmare last night. I was flying to the race (not wisconsin - I think france????) and was carrying on my bike (I know, doesn't make sense right?). My bike got loaded first and then I went to site down only to realize that my aero bars were missing and there was another pair with electronic shifters on the ground beside my bike (forget that all the shifting wires run through the aero bars and if you were to simply take off the aero bars, they would still be attached to the bike by the wires.) Weird dream. Hopefully not too many IM nightmares. |
