Subject: RE: Guys- what do you think???My dating situation is different since I'm older, but I want to throw in my 2 cents.
I am veeeeery careful about calling men because as a guy buddy has told me over and over, "the guy wants to be the pursuer and chase you. Don't chase him...." and I NEVER want to be perceived as "needy"
However, that being said, I get tickets to sporting events and concerts through my job. I don't have a problem with calling up a guy and saying, "I have two tickets to a PGA tournament and none of my friends are really into golf and I know you are. Would you like to go with me?" Attending a sporting event is great as a first date because it's so open and casual and there's something to look at and talk about so you're not just staring at each other. (and sometimes I think the guy wants to stay friends with me in anticipation of free tickets to future events! ha! )
I have also been known to put people on the spot. You know how people will say, "We should have lunch some time." (both male and female friends will say that ) I'll say, "When?" Or maybe a week later, call them up and say, "Hey, remember last week when you said we should go out for margaritas some time? What are you doing tomorrow night?" So I'm throwing their invitation (however flippant ) back at them. I've never had anyone tell me no....
