Love, love, love everyone's pics!!  Super!

Here is mine from my run Friday evening on one of my favorite trails (rail trail) and the other shots are from the bike race I worked at on Saturday since my own ride didn't pan out the way I wanted it to this weekend.  But the pics from the race are very indicative of much of the scenery is around my area.  Farms, corn, crops.  I will still try to get the pic I really wanted to get sometime in the future.

PIGLET BUTTS!!! Thank you!

And the rest of the scenery is indeed lovely and bucolic.

The Olympic Trials were one of the coolest things EVER. OMG it was just heaven! I have been in 4 states in one week and am dead tired and ready to spend some time at home but the weekend was just amazing. The whole thing was just crazy-exciting. Of course, I was partial to the women's 200m if I absolutely HAD to pick my favorite thing.

Here is a pic from my training run in Seattle Friday:

and here are some pics from the trials Saturday:

Big Azz hamster wheel

Here is a pic while running the PRE trails with the Brooks team:

Wow, lots of piglet butt here too! Thank you, thank you! Sigh. So Delicious. I sure know how to pick my smokin' redheaded co-Manatees.

I know I've been MIA for awhile but (dare I say it) I am back to training!  Since we are on a picture theme, here is what has kept me so busy over the past few weeks:

Vacation in NC (Lake Norman...that's Bryan and Alex):

Baseball championships (Liam's the catcher):

Camping trip w/Cub Scouts:

ER visits:

Fishing:

First day of ESY (Cole):

The ever-amazing Erica. What a truly beautiful family you've created.

Hum...as Manatees, perhaps we are predisposed to piglet butt pictures. It just came so naturally.

Back from the beach and getting back into it, going for a ride here in a bit and probably a swim this afternoon.

Here is a pic from the beach that I got some OWS in.

I am jealous, Kirk. That is beautiful.

What is this about your knee? I seemed to have missed it. Regardless, take it easy. Don't want to eff around with a knee injury.

As Manatees, we also HAVE piglet butts. That, too, is simply natural.

Funny, when I got passed by the M-dot laden piglet on my ride Saturday I wanted to get a scenery picture for you all.  But 1) I couldn't get my phone out in time 2) Didn't want the poor man to think i was a stalker (unless he was a BT-er, then I could just tell him it's for Yanti and he'd understand).

As to not be completely misleading about my region, as much as it is bucolic (nice word choice, Yanti), there are plenty of wooded areas, too, as well as the aquatic scenery around the nearby Susquehanna (suck a banana, as we used to say as kids, LOL) river that I often run next to and kayak on.

Jo, the event wh*re: congrats on catching the manatee madness and signing up for a tri!  We'll help you through!

Yanti: love the moniker Tour de Piglets.

Kate: sounds like all the new critters at the zoo have you very busy, especially teaching some thumb vs. food

Chris:  trail shoes definitely get my vote.  As far as what to do with the rest of your birthday loot, buy Stinger waffles!!

TJ: yes, I too am completely in love with Stinger waffles.  Strawberry and honey are my favs, although the chocolate is quite yummy as well.  Want to take it up a notch? Put peanut butter on. O. M. G.  I also see they have a new lemon flavor which should be kick arse, can't wait to try it!  Oh, and congrats on the great ride with the M-dot piglet!  I liked how your pics told the story of your run and Gu consumption.

Jen: you really threw me a curve ball with that winter pic, nice!!

Allen: sorry to hear of your wife's sudden decision and I do hope something better will come her way.  Love your race pics, thank you!

Salty: VERY cool pics from your weekend at the Olympic trials, what a special opportunity!  Giant hamster wheel cracked me up.

Janyne: you apologized for awesome pictures.  *Flipper thwack!*  Don't ever do that again!   Nice ride, by the way.

Kirk: hoping things improve with your mental and physical well-being this week.  That beach sure looked inviting, and it was good to hear you got some OWS in as well.

Erica: great update pics!!  Hoping your little split lip ER patient healed up OK.

I hope I didn't miss anyone, I tried to take notes...I love this group!!

Jo - glad you're feeling better! Looking forward to encouraging you as you train for your HIM!

Kirsten - If the elevation is a non-issue for you then I think the lower elevation ride looks "harder" because it has steeper climbs.  The one at elevation has a less steep climb and appears to have more downhill time.  Just my 2 cents.

Hoping the elevation won't be an issue, but glad that y'all think the first is more difficult.  That is the profile from my ride yesterday; the other is my HIM.  When I first looked at the elevation a few months back, I was worried, but I am pretty comfortable on hills, so reckon I should be ok!

Okay, this is where I might need some reigning in.  I have an extra long weekend and don't go back to work until Thursday.  My tri is on Sunday.  I have made it a point to cram a ton of training into today and the next 2 days.  I did a bike this morning, my ironman neighbor just invited me to a swim, and this evening I am doing an evil barre plus (think harder than any marathon, push till you puke type class) class.  Tomorrow I a set up for bikram yoga in the morning and then a swim/bike/run with a friend who is doing her 1st tri.  Wednesday, I have barre plus again (PURE EVIL!!!) and then whatever else opportunity comes along.

So does cramming for a sprint tri work?  I think I need to add some more running in but will it even matter.  I have been blowing off running and only run minimal since Big Sur, 2 months ago (think 10 miles over the past 2 months, I take this recovery stuff seriously.  )

I am comfortable, not fast, but comfortable with the swim and bike distance.  The run is the thing I am least comfortable at right now but my social opportunities are minimal for the run.  Does it even matter?  I am just looking to survive but I would like to do it without walking.

If you are use to the lower elevation I would definitely try to get some high elevation training done.  While the hills are less steep comparitavely you are starting 1000 meters higher which is significant.
