Good day Ghoulies!  Today was a great day.  I took a day of leave from work.  

Did 3 loads of laundry, folded and almost put away.

Finished a book

Drove a patient to radiation

Almost cleared off the dining room table of papers.  Whats left belongs to DH.

Going to go and workout at the gym.  Too cold to run outside.  Yes, I'm a wimp.

Amy - has hubby decided if he is coming to Key West yet?

Robin - Hope all was "Quiet on the Western Front"

Ann - better to be ready early than late.  I could not imagine eating dinner before 6:30 myself.  4:30 is snack time, not dinner.

Kim - Glad to hear via Ann that you are still okay.  Hope that you get power back soon.

Good morning Ghoulies!

My dad needs all the juju you can muster right now. My mom called me yesterday afternoon to tell me he has lung cancer. He is having some tests done today. He is have a PET (I think) scan on Monday to make sure it hasn't spread. Then he is having surgery on the 16th to have it removed. The doctor told him they could just do chemo and radiation, they didn't have to take it out, but he said he wanted it out of there. It's small, so that's good. His mom died of cancer when Caleb was a toddler. She had smoked for 35 years. When they found the tumor in her lung it was the size of a grapefruit. The doctor didn't think she'd last the week, she lived another year and a half. It had spread to her brain though.

Sending tons of ju-ju. At least they found it early!

Good morning Ghoulies.  Major issues with the hip and leg for the past 5 days.  I am so fustrated with this issue.  What bothers me is that it is not just running that is the issue.  Even walking causes the pain.  Fustrated fustrated fustrated.

Ann - I know that what I am dealing with is nothing compared to what your father will be dealing with.  He will stay on my prayer list as long as you need him to.  You too!

Morning Gouhlies! 

I just started some laundry and now I'm trying to decide if I should go to the rec center and run on the 0.10 mile track, or if I should take my chances and wait a couple hours so I can bundle up and run outside. It snowed a bunch here Thursday and Friday and Saturday. It's 24 degrees out there right now. There's no way I'm running in that unless I have to, but in a few hours it will break freezing and will be tolerable. WWTGD? (What would the gouhlies do?)

Kendra--naughty hip! I'm so sorry you're having to deal with that still. Grrr. 

Robin--no pain! Pain is bad! Hope the new kicks and inserts fix it. Other than that, ice, lots of fish oil, vitamin D and calcium are what the (nurse) orders. (where's Dr Melindy when you need her?)

Ann--I'm glad you have the ability to WFH. Hope your errands this morning go well.

My parents called and took me out to breakfast. So I was saved from having to make a decision. Well, more like delayed. I'm home now, but now I have to decide between indoor or outdoor. I'm leaning toward indoor. 

Hubby has an appointment with a neurosurgeon this afternoon to see whether he needs surgery again right away. keep your fingers crossed for us that he will give some decisive direction,not just "wait and see". International travel and "wait and see" don't mix well. 

Indoors, outdoors.. just run!

Thanks Robin. The neuro said he could have surgery, but try to wait. And he said he could do surgery without having to fuse the vertebrae. This time. So he's headed in for a spinal nerve block on Wednesday (they pulled some strings for us--we couldn't get an appointment anywhere for 3 weeks), and then next Monday he'll be off and traveling the world until Christmas.
