Morning boys!

Morning TAN

You guys need to stop getting snowed on! It's almost summer for cryin' out loud!

I actually rode outside on Monday after work with my touring bike that hasn't been out in 5+ months and loved it.  It is lightly raining now, but about an hour west had thundersnow last night with hail and sleet.

Gonna work on my pool this weekend if the snow is gone.  :-)

Going to work is often not as bad as being at work. Like today for example.

I use the Vittoria Randonneur, and have used on gravel, but the Randonneur Trail is better suited for off road.  I got some other brand for a present, but I don't remember what they are and will probably put them on this weekend also.  I have about 2000 miles on the tires I have now and they are showing it.

I will vote for the coming back from a break from work as being worse.  I only took a few days when we went to Florida, but it was very hard to go back to work and know how far behind I was when I returned.

I have panaracers now and, although they're OK tread wise, I am having a phantom flatting problem and am tired of it. I think a bead wire has gone awry and "ain't nobody got time for that".

Flip: Couldn't find the trail version and I agree, the touring version wouldn't be prudent for 350 miles of gravel. went with these:

http://www.pricepoint.com/Brand/Continental/Continental-Cyclocross-...

Should be low rolling resistance on road yet still toothy enough for gravel.

And with that; no more bike talk.

There are a lot of cyclocross tires that will probably work.  I know a lot of people like the gatorskins for the puncture resistance, but most of my riding is road and bike trails that is crushed limestone with some gravel crossings.  Don't need too tough of a tire for that.

Take a day and read, if that is what you need.

I really need to build some more art projects and I am lacking the time and I have some ideas in my head.  Sometimes I just need to take the time and go work with the metal and not think about the rest of the world.  I have been building bike art things for a fund raiser, but I really want to build a high heel shoe for my oldest daughter that I have a picture in my head of how it should work.   But, going from what is in my head to do with wire is very difficult sometimes.

I guess what I am saying is take the time you need and refresh yourself.  We sometimes over book ourselves to help others out and it burns us out slowly.  And maybe you just need some wine and a good book.  Make time for YOU.  I know, much easier said than done.

I was supposed to be able to take a few days and head for the woods by myself with a few books.  First it was supposed to be in Feb.  Then something came up.  Then it was supposed to be in March.  Something came up.  April is not looking good and neither is May.
