It kind of evolved out of a conversation.... about being on vacation.... on a beach.... and not coming back.... Then someone suggested it was "the impossible dream" and added that it was like a beer commercial. So I put all that together and.... voila. Dat would have been moi. And that's why we luvs Dee! G'night! |

Extreme Veteran 393 Columbia, South Carolina | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild Hi everyone! I got another 800 yds in this morning - was actually hoping for a bit more but I only had 20 minutes before the pool closed for a swim meet. Though I'm only at 13% of my goal right now, fear not - as the days and weeks go on I expect my knee's tolerance for longer-distance swimming to improve significantly. Happy swimming! |

Modesto, California | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild I'm in for this week, I know its not 25% but for most it was a short week. I'm right at 6600 yards logged. With some real bad weather here I would have normally passed on training all together, because I swam in the rain I did not sweat running in the rain too much. Go wet and wild! Extreme Veteran 483 Pacific NW | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild Okay all, I think I need to bump up my swim goal for the month. I didn't want to set my sights too big for my first challenge, but I don't want to be a sandbagger either! I'll go from the original goal of 15000m to 25000m I think. I hope you all are having a fun time swimming. |

I hope you all are having a fun time swimming. That's GREAT! Raising your goal is always a good thing. Are you updating the spreadsheet yourself? If so, you can go ahead and raise your goal. If you're not updating it, either I or your team captain can do it for you. Dee |

Extreme Veteran 504 Tucson, AZ | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild I was a slacker today. Woke up feeling like a cold was coming on and was not inspired to swim in the cold rain (our pool is outdoors) today. That puts me at 14%. I will replace a cycling with a swimming next week and get past 40% by the end of next week. I will not let the group down!!!! |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild January Challenge – week 1 Thanks to everyone who is participating – Dee and I are having a great time with the challenge – I loved being the official greeter and well – Dee loves spreadsheets, so it’s a perfect match – LOL We have nine teams and I’d have to say they’ve been quite creative in coming up with team names! Way better than what Dee and I would have come up with that’s for sure!!! There have been some obstacles this first week for many of the teams, lots of illness, colds coughs, and the like. Some monster storms affecting our friends in Cali – Looks like everyone is making the best of it and still getting the workouts in! WTG! Team Recaps (in no particular order – and the order could change from week to week) Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra – Captain Bluejack Team T.I.T.S – Captain Max (aka keeper of the T.I.T.S) Wet and Wild – Captain Jeni Side note – has anyone else noticed the high view to post count ratio for Teams T.I.T.S and Wet and Wild? What do you suppose people are looking for? LOL! Team Ride Lots – Captain Scott Scrambled Legs – Captain1for1 Loving Every Mile – L.E.M. - Captain Lisa Flying Fish – Captain Kendra Twisted Blisters – Captain Beth Who’s your Marmadaddy? – Captain Sal |

Extreme Veteran 665 Vancouver, British Columbia | Subject: RE: Wet and Wild I got in 900m this morning. My first time back in a 50m pool in a while and it killed me!! Well part of it was that I was feeling the 2200m I did yesterday in the 25m pool and I need to work on my nutrition so I have the energy to get wet and wild!! My body is calling for me to take it easy for the rest of the day, but friends are headed to the pool tomorrow so I'll be joining them. The 50m pool and I shall have a rematch and next time I will come out on top! |
