I guess 16. Goodmorning Judi! You're bored of swimming, but at least your cycling a bit now! True.....but I looked over the pre week training for Jorge's winter plan and realized my leg isn't going to tolerate that for at least another 6-8 weks and it's sooooooo disappointing Modify it for your needs What is Jorge's winter plan? Who is Jorge? Jorge is one of the certified tri coaches on BT, he has a thread here in the challenge forum where he posts a 14 week winter cycling training plan as a way to give back to BT. I did most of it last season and had a lot more bike strength when I got back on the road. I can start it later, just would have preferred to start it when he has the session start. It's hard to copy the workouts each week and not know for sure what he means when I'm way behind the rest of the group. I know the one you're talking about now. I went over there and tried to take a look at the week one schedule but I couldn't get it to work. I was unable to see a detailed breakdown of week one, only a thumbnail. I'm not the most computer savvy... Click on his link, then when you are on the page you can click on either the power meter or the HRM training plan. If you don't use HRM training you can do it as perceived exertion. He has explanations of what he means by "A" or "B" in the rest sets somewhere. I have all 14 weeks of last years plan written down with the explanation written all on index cards. Is it meant to be used on a spinner or regular cycle? From your experience last year, do you think it's suitable for beginners? |

From your experience last year, do you think it's suitable for beginners? You can do it on a spin bike at the gym or your own bike on a trainer. Whatever you have to work with. Since you're saving up for a roadie a gym spin bike is fine. I know one person who taught spin classes modifying his training plan to fit the format of her class!! |

Just got back from an 8 mile run that I was to do yesterday but did it this morning - then got to experience my first ever SHORT ice bath. How long are you to stay in those things anyway? 8 miles - 1:27:30 which I wanted to beat 1:30. I think I had a negative split since I was at 45:30 at 4 miles. This puts me over 50% in both of my items... and now off to run errands with hubby. Stacie |

Being a Buffalo native, I love winter weather. I just don't particularly like running, biking, etc in it. And I don't get a lot of opportunity with the kids to do other fun winter activities like skiing, etc. Although, my back yard is great for sledding. I WILL go running outside in the winter.... but only because I hate the dreadmill more than just about anything. |

Going back to VS to get them to remove the security devices wasn't fun though. Today I have to go back to Verizon cause my phone battery dies mid day ever since thy upgraded the software last week. |

I have to get in the lab very shortly (well 30 mins ago really) and may be some time so I might not be around a whole lot today. On another note, my picture has changed itself back overnight and all I did was login on a different computer. Also, I have deleted my browser cache or whatever on this computer but it still won't let me upload a new profile pic - I don't want to be stuck with the same one for ever! Anyone had problems like this...? I'll try and fix it at lunch. or coffee if I'm lucky enough to get one this morning.... |

I've completed 37/70km running (52.9%) and 240/600min strength training (40%) so far. Ghoulie Crushers are behind by 3.7%! Let's go Crushers! Only two weeks left! |

Elite 2640 Ontario, Canada | Subject: RE: Ghoulies October: GHOULIE CRUSHERS! With 14 days left I need to do at least 26 minutes of strength training per day for 100%. My plan is to do a minimum of 30 minutes per day and try to slip in a couple more long training sessions, since I know I don't want to do any strength training on Halloween weekend. I've gotten myself so sick of strength training that I am REALLY looking forward to getting back to cycling (and maybe even swimming...) in November! This is a good thing. My favorite is running. My running is still on schedule for success! I am injury free from Saturday's long run and ready to carry on. |
