Anyone fancy coming with me to brick someones windows today? I went to see a new muay thai trainer last night and he stood in front of me and told me directly that he won't train girls because he is too tough. I actually thought he was joking to start with and when I realised he was serious I just turned around and walked out because I was so mad. This is 2 trainers now - seriously!!! I am used to having to work a lot harder because I'm a girl but I'm not used to being told I can't do something! These guys are ignorant @zzes! If geography were no issue I would come on over! I kind of sent the guy who runs the whole gym (and had told me to go in!) an email telling him his trainer is a misogynistic bigot and now I have a response in my inbox which I am a little scared to read, lol Ooooooo. Did you read it yet? |

I’m really sorry you had to go through that, I’ve never really discussed this issue with him, and I can really see I should have before I told you it was ok. I don’t really know what to say except I’m sorry. It’s a shame he’s like that. |

Besides, I don't need to taser him. Rachel is gonna knock him on his backside someday. D001 - 2010-11-15 6:55 PM rh8463 - 2010-11-15 6:29 PM Morning All! Maybe he just likes boys more than girls. Keep looking. There's got to be someone out there who's worth dealing with! Anyone fancy coming with me to brick someones windows today? Although quite possibly when he isn't looking and maybe with a swift kick to the nether regions first because he is a) bigger than me and b) a muay thai world champ several times over and I am not afraid to fight dirty! |

I am used to having to work a lot harder because I'm a girl but I'm not used to being told I can't do something! You should have surprised him and showed him how tough you could be. I would think you would have some kind of sex discrimination suit on your hands too. You're probably better off finding a different trainer though. Its frustrating when you run into people like that. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS Is it Friday yet? jk. I'm fried and its only Monday. Ok, technically its Tuesday but I haven't gone to bed yet so I count it as Monday still. Busy day at work for a change. Took my lunch at 5 and went for a bike ride. Way too warm for any CWWC points. Too bad because I would have had some extra points for the wind. Then it was off to help my wife. Its time to put up the Christmas decorations at the main store where she works. We were working on just a tiny part of the overall plan. Some of the stuff they are doing is big enough of a deal that one of the local TV stations came out to do a story on it. The front part of the store is going to be this huge interactive advent calendar. It was looking pretty cool when I left at 12:00 so I can't wait to see it when its done. Well, I'm off to bed so I can get some sleep before I have to head off to the dentist. Another fun filled day lies ahead. |

Elite 2640 Ontario, Canada | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS I was at work last night and had the physiotherapist take a look at my foot. The other injury that affected me last month, not the blistering. She thinks that it's inflammation of flexor hallucius longus. She recommended lots of stretching and accupuncture treatment. I got to try accupuncture for my first time last night! It's not bad at all. She does electro accupuncture so Ithe needles got hooked up to a tens like device. I stretched after and I think I over did it because the area is flared up like crazy today. It could have been the accu - but i stretched aggressively/foolishly after the treatment. I just want it to heal so badly and carry on! |

Oooh! Glad your foot is better. Thanks! It was healed enough that I wrapped it in moleskin and took out the new socks. Still healing enough that I had to fight with that top layer of skin to stay put when i pulled off the moleskin though.... I was careful and won! |

Elite 2640 Ontario, Canada | Subject: RE: November CRUSHERS rnihill - 2010-11-15 10:52 AM So, I've made a decision to prod me along on my jump rope goal. There is a jump rope in the gym in the basement. Every time I need a mental health break from work, I have to go down and jump for a few minutes to clear my head. That way my overall goal won't seem quite so overwhelming! I just went down for a couple minutes... and even though I have an elephant sitting on my chest and I'm still running a low grade temp, I feel much better!!!
That's a good idea! Completing the goal + stress releif at work. |

Last long run before the race - took it easy and it felt easy - about 30 sec per mile slower than last week but I got it done. I told hubby there were no races today - it was all about getting to next week. Wha hhoo... and an extra benefit - headache is FINALLY gone. Good luck with your race this week. I originally had a marathon on the calendar for this weekend but alas, things did not work out. Maybe next year. Thanks - this is my first so I am nervous.. My sister was going to come run it with me and can't due to hip problems that she encountered when she started training. Like I told her - there is always next year - being healthy is MOST important. I made my goal for my first half mary to just run the whole thing. ( I did too), the second one I had torn hip flexors (see a trend here with me tearing muscles?) and just wanted to finish it......# 3 was a PR until I beat that time at #4.....I am sooooo close to my goal time (sub 2 hrs) but this years plan is currently be healthy enough to participate and not chase down the PR's. My ultimate goal is just to finish and not kill myself. My parents paid for my double knee surgery in high school and when I started this training dad told me I was going to screw my knees up again. I told him I wouldn't. He was here last week and made a comment about me pacing on the 11 mile run I did. My mom told him that I knew what I had to do not to screw them up. Hubby told me at the 1/4 marathon I did this summer (it was HOT) that crossing the finish line on a stretcher didn't count so I am keeping that mantra for this one as well (even though it is not HOT). Beating 2:30 would just be a bonus - I am quite a bit away from sub 2. "crossing the finish line on a stretcher didn't count" |

My roommates and I have challenged my boyfriend and his roommates to a mud run challenge in April. I'm really excited for it and I think it will be a fun thing for us to do to end our senior year. If anyone's done one I'd love to hear stories about it. No but I would love to try one. Call me a wimp, but this just sounds cold to me.
I'm guessing that you won't be using the polar bear swim to collect crappy winter weather points? |
