I am seeing an improvement. I'm up to a minute and half walk/ minute and half run and can go for about 40 minutes and not be totally wiped out. I'm beginning to get a handle on the breathing so that I don't sound like Darth Vadar after about 10 minutes. I'm excided to see how I improve over the next 5 weeks. And the knees are doing so much better.
That is GREAT news! |

I think you should come to NC in August before that. For a mental break before all of that. Plus, it is usually HOT and SUNNY then and there is a Lake. Just sayin. I'm in school Aug 8. I start my family med rotation on like Aug 22...I can't come! Sad, but dedicated. Are you going to be able to go to DC for the MCM? Double post!! Time for work to be over, then. (Maybe that makes up for the toppage I didn't claim today) Later Ghoulies. No I have a break from Oct 2-Oct 18, but after that I am officially on work-no fun schedule. On the 19th I am doing my rural placement for 4 weeks somewhere in random Alberta....I'm crossing my fingers for Jasper or something...but that might be hard to get because it is in the mountains...and everyone wants to go out to the mountains. After Oct 18, I have 7 days off in Dec-Jan for Xmas/New Years and then I go straight till April 2...then I plan on going somewhere for a week. Then I go straight till July...3rd year is a rough year....very intensive. Then 4th year starts...and residency matching...and OMG...
all I can say is WOW |

(warning semi-political rant) I have a ton of reports to write but because I am an accursed public employee who is evidently bankrupting the country, I am not allowed to purchase printer ink or paper. (or any other office supply). So I am driving into town and buying my own so I can print the things I am forced to print to be accountable so I can keep my job that hasn't had even a cost of living raise in 4 years or merit raise in 7 years despite doubling my duties because of cut backs and now is going to have to pay a third of my monthly salary for a health plan that won't cover my doctors that I go to or the screenings that I must have every 6 months. deep breath Understand that if I were in an office I would just press "print" and everything and anything could be printed, but we opted out of offices to save time, and money for the state (admittedly adding convenience for the workers). No I won't be reimbursed for the travel, time or supplies I buy when I am out. I am pissed! |

You don't have to pay for space. You don't have to pay to heat the space, or to cool the space. You don't have to furnish the space. You don't have to pay the electricity to run lights, computers, fans, refrigerators, microwaves, radios, or anything else that may be in an office. YOU WOULD THINK that with all of that savings, that ink could be purchased. And you most certainly should not have to pay for it out of your own pocket. |

We may see the sun for a brief bit today. Then it is going to be gone the rest of the week. If I see it I will bottle some up and send it to Melindy! |

I know think and government in the same sentence isn't right. We will have sun today, then rain/snow/sleet/ugly mix the rest of the week. I will probably have to cancel soccer practice Friday, and I doubt our game will be played on Saturday, the fields are still closed because they are nothing but mud. |

They have snow and ice just 20 miles north of here. Whew! we missed that one. Hopefully not this week either. Edited by ceilidh 2011-03-29 6:59 AM |

Pretty UN-subtle, eh? So my program is now "Hippo-b-gone". Um... Robin... sweetie... you ARE NOT a hippo!
No, but I AM large. and I am way larger than I am comfortable with. That is the key. I have tons of really nice clothes that I can't fit in. So..... operation hippo-b-gone has been initiated. YOU CAN DO IT!!! I agree with Ann. From the pics I've seen you are NOT a hippo. However, I understand about being larger than comfortable with. So I had to laugh at your wonderful operation name. Love it! I am sure you will be successful !! I am sure gonna try! You should have seen the dream. Big ole head-to-foot costume that I could look out through the mouth. Thousands upon thousands of people laughing. Little short arms and legs that I could do a make-shift dog paddle with and wobble run. I woke up appalled and laughing at the same time.
appalled AND laughing ... no wonder you are on a mission |
