Quick drop in.  I'm off work this week and I've been busy painting my downstairs hallway, stairwell, and upstairs hall.  So far I have all the trim done (up and down) and the ceiling done upstairs.  Once I get back to the house today, I'm planning on getting the paint on the upstairs walls and maybe if I am lucky the stairwell and will only have the downstairs to go tomorrw.  Then back to work on Saturday.

I have been running, will update everything on Saturday.  Hope that everyone is doing well in Ghoulieland.

No, I did not get my bicycle ride in on Saturday.  I loaned my bicycle to my son so that he could do the ride.  It was his first ever sponsored ride and he did 50 miles.  So did my hubby and neighbor.  I was the driver for the day.  I did get in a 4 mile run while they were out there, picked up paint samples for trying to decide what color was going to go up on my hallway walls this week, and then I read my book.  They were the last three riders to come in.  at about 11:30am the police came in and told the race coordinator that there were no more cyclists out there, so they started picking up the signs.  Guess what?  At least 30+ cyclists came in after that.  Luckily the route was a double loop so if you could remember what you did the first 25 miles, you could make it back in.  My son did not even have a cue sheet on him.  He figured his dad would have it, only he left his dad in the dust and rode the last 18 miles on his own.  Frank stayed with our neighbor who was only going about 12.5 miles per hour.  But they did make it in.  The race coordinator did offer their money back, but we said that it was for a good cause and let it ride.  Frank did send in an email with the issues.  This was the third time he has done this ride, but the first time trying to do the 50, and he was not happy with having the SAG picked up before they even finished the first 25.  Unreal.

Good on the guys for riding. That's pretty sucktastic that they started tearing down before everyone was done.

Heyya Ghloulies. Back from putting on the second training course in Raleigh. Two down, two to go. I am going to check out the "happy hour" and then get some sushi for dinner. Turns out today was an unintended rest day. Hopefully I'll get a run in tomorrow.

I hope it was good overall for Frank, and your son. you would think they would have a clue since this wasn't the race's first rodeo! Glad nothing bad happened.

Sounds like a lot of painting there, Kendra. You can come up and help me anytime this summer. Painting projects on going inside and out all summer long... LOTS of opportunity

Robin, I just read the news report from last night's elections. PA passed a similiar measure a little while back. I feel sorry for the narrow minded people of our states. If you don't want to support it, then fine, leave it alone, but I don't see the purpose in making it illegal. The only marriage that is any of my business is my own, I don't really care who other people marry, or what they do behind closed doors.

Love is never wrong.

exactly!

Good morning Ghoulies!

I'm off in a few minutes to take 3 8 year olds to a park where they will play 2 softball games today. It's not technically a tournament, but there will be lots of teams there, plus the mascot from a local minor league baseball team, a bouncy house, and some other stuff. The girls play back to back games. After we get home this afternoon we are gathering up the boys and then going to the batting cages, and for ice cream. Then I need to find something to do while they all shop for me for Mother's Day (nothing like waiting until the last minute).

I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday!!!

Morning Ghoulies.

HOME!!!

Got in yesterday, got the hair "fixed" and drove straight to the wine dinner. Our friends from Asheville were there and we laughed so hard our stomachs hurt! Today is the start of the CHARGE for getting stuff done. We have our Memorial Day 3 day party and the next weekend we have a bunch of people staying here for my Cousin's sons wedding. We are planning on getting a mountain bike ride in this afternoon before the rains come in for the rest of the week.

Ann, it sounds like you have a jam packed day ahead of you. Better they shop today, rather than tomorrow.... or Monday!

sounds like you are going to be pretty busy for a while.  I need to try and figure out when I can get back up to Asheville again.  It will have to include a trip to Lake Lure.

So, I got all the painting done yesterday.  Hubby is doing the touch up and clean up today (taking all the tape down and touching up where I bled the paint through the tape).  It looks awesome.  Now to figure out when I am going to paint the living room which will be much harder since there is a lot of furniture to move around in there, and three are big pieces.

Funny how once you start painting one area, the rest of the house starts to look really shabby and you need to paint there.  The wallpaper in my kitchen is 23 years old, but I just don't have the ambition to take it down and paint, or even prime over it and paint, since there are a couple of spots that are peeling a bit.  Guess I really should take a good look at it, but then again if I do the walls, I'll want to do the floor.

A house is never finished.  It's always a work in progress.

So, bad news.  Chiropractor has decided that I have a bulging disc in my back which is causing the issues with my leg and hip.  We are trying decompression on it to see it that will help.  Insurance does not cover decompression, but I am beginning to feel a difference, so I will give it a few more sessions.

Meanwhile, I have been instructed to not run, not play tennis, don't do anything that will twist or stress my back.  And just when I was beginning to understand the concept of running on a regular basis and was seeing a change in my speed.  One step forward, two slides backwards.

Good for you for getting it done. I know the feeling. One room painted, inevitably means that other rooms start to look "needy".

OH NOOOOO!!!!!

You can walk, though, right? That is just no fair, but from one that had back surgery because of a ruptured disc. You do not want that to happen. There are some fantastic stretches that are wonderful for lower back/ disc issues. The surgeon gave them to Jim after his disc surgery. The help strengthen the muscles around the discs to relieve the stress on them.
