Asalzwed - 2012-08-11 6:50 AM Eat those pancakes while your thinking

The crap I do for the Manatees ...

Dress up as a pizza delivery person, and actually carry a pizza, and give out slices to people.

Or as Tinkerbell and give out lollipops.

Something like that.

He made mine. He was really sweet, cute, obliging, and brought me PANCAKES, for goodness' sake.

Yep, posed without batting an eye. Indonesians are total pictures hoes anyway, though. I'm sure everyone is shocked by that piece of information.

It's funny ... Indonesians are by and large understated and even kind of shy, but break out a camera or a microphone and there will be a minor riot.

Do you guys have karaoke like the Japanese?

I don't know any Indonesians here, actually. The majority of my circle is Korean and Chinese with some Vietnamese and Japanese sprinkled in. The Koreans I am friends with are almost exclusively adopted and white-washed. (Can I say that? They do.

Do we have karaoke like the Japanese ... no ... here, everybody, regardless of gender, age, or singing ability, will dash immediately for any available microphone and viciously elbow others out of the way.

It's like, ueber-karaoke.

There's a whole alphabet soup to describe Asians, Asian immigrants, of which Asian decent, which generation, which proclivity to other ethnicities ... it's worse than BOP MOP FOP BOBOP BEBOP A DO MOP.

Damn, these pancakes are good. They're nothing like fast-food pancakes in the U.S., which I remember as thin but dense and rubbery, essentially flavorless.

These I can just eat straight and they are fluffy and yummy!

And each one looks different and some are even a bit burnt at the edges.

Good morning (evening/night) all!

I did an hour on the drainer last night with Chrissie and the new Adamo saddle.  It was sore on the "sit" bones, just as everyone says it is for the first few rides.  But I could tell a HUGE difference.  The soreness was gone a few minutes after I finished.  On my old saddle the "girly bits" were sore for hours!

In other news... I told my niece that for my 70.3 I wanted to raise money in her honor to go to the cancer charity of her choice.  Last night she told me she wants to do TEAM FIGHT!!!!!! I'm pretty excited about that! Melanie, thanks for telling me about them! Now I just need to set it all up with the Ironman Foundation, and learn how to fund-raise! So excited!

Awesome Awesome Awesome!! THere's is something so special about using just your physical abilities to inspire people to donate to a worthy cause.  I am thinking that maybe next year I'll do a HIM for pancreatic cancer...  GO TJ!!!!

Day 3 of being flat-out. Might be flu, not cold; or maybe my less-than-optimal-and-badly-beaten-over-two-years immune system just isn't handling whatever it is very well.

In any case, I'm down for the count.

Take care!

Awesome new avatar!! Love it!

HMMM so interesting no one seems to have a problem with cockiness!!!

What thinks you about Kanye West? Smile

I like him. I met him. I trained his mom's dogs before she passed away.

I thought it was really funny that her last name was West and she owned ... Westies. (West Highland White Terrier).

I don't really know what he's said in the popular press (I guess I've heard some things but didn't really pay attention), but he was really great back when it was his week to be an American Idol mentor (two seasons ago).

I suddenly have a hankering for Dos Equis...

Ben finished his race in 34 minutes -- 18th overall in the pups. I finished in 1:19, 88th overall in the dogs. My run was 28 minutes and change and I averaged 17.3 on the bike. Everything keeps getting better. No medals for either of us, but we got to run together for half a mile, so that was great. More when I get more details, but Ben is hooked. He had a blast.

Great job, Felicia and Ben!  So cool that you got to run together for part of it.  Gosh, he's pretty young... I see a lot of money being spent in your future because of outgrown tri gear Laughing

Way to rock it Felicia and Ben!!!! Can't wait for your RR(s).

I went for a 20 mile ride in 94 degree heat (34 for you C types). The wind was hot but I pushed. When I got home I was wiped out! Like lay-down-on-the-floor-till-you-can-get-the-energy-to-sit-up wiped out. Loving the new saddle. Getting sore in leg muscles that I usually don't. But I feel strong on it and my speed was good in spite of the nasty hot wind. Quality T.I.T.S. right there!

Linky poo to my Salty Dog Race Report

Linky poo to Ben's Salty Pup Race Report

I guess I accidentally made my race report public before it was completed. So if you looked at it yesterday, it is quite different now. Not as exciting as Yanti's race reports, but the race was actually a little boring. :-)

Have you tried Peanut Butter pancakes?  One of my kids favorites, only available in Dads kitchen, don't believe I've seen them in restaurants, they're so yummy!

Sydney was AWESOME!!!!  The foot was taped and I ran as hard as I dared in cold windy conditions with 85,000 of my closest friends.  It's a great run, basically climbs for about 11km with a 3km downhill into Bondi Beach and the atmosphere is party central.  I had a great time with Nicki and Alan, we ate and ate, when we weren't running.  Pulled up fine afterwards, hammies a bit tight this morning but foot is fine.

Alas no running shoes, the expo was rubbish with a few New Balance but nothing else so online we go.  I know which shoes I can wear - Asics Kayanos or 2170's just the cheapest site to find now!

Robbie alas didn't quite make the Channel crossing - got pulled 2miles from the shore, the sea turned ugly and after 12 hours he didn't have the strength to fight it, if he had continued it could have been another 7 or 8 hours.  He had a grand time and isn't disappointed at all.  Out of the four so far he got the furthest and is considered the 'worst' swimmer of the bunch.

He has joined a relay team who are doing a double crossing next year in October and asked if I would join....I was tempted for a nano second, only have to swim maximum of an hour at a time (how many times though!!!).  BUT I don't have the annual leave to spare as i'm already going to Europe in July.  Plus it's an expense and the nail in the coffin for me - i have to gain 10 kilos (22lbs) er no thanks!!!!

Thanks for all the enthusiastic well wishes - love being a part of this pod!  Olympics is now over, I have nothing to watch at all.

Sorry about Robbie, Jo!  But sure glad you foot was ok for the race and is feeling ok.  I went out and got myself some new shoes this weekend.  Man, until you put the new ones on, you don't realize how little support the old ones have--and I have been tracking the mileage!!  Glad you had a fun time.
