So you know how things rarely go how I have planned?

On Friday I have off work. I was going to go hike my favorite section of the AT during the day, then in the evening my sister and her family, and my favorite aunt were going to come over for some small festivities. They're calling for snow on Friday now, so my sister most likely won't be coming up. And since I've been sick for almost 2 weeks I don't think I'll be hiking either.

This is turning out to be one sucktastic birthday.

Anne, my father never celebrated our birthdays on the actual day, and as I have gotten older, I understand why.  You can't always plan for the exact day to be the right one.  So, we celebrate birthdays on other days.  Basically extending the celebration in one direction or another.  We have started to do that with our grandchildren since we can't be with them on their birthdays.  We have decided that they will celebrate their birthdays when Grandma and Grandpa decide to.  It made it fun when we visited them in the fall because their mom made a birthday cake, and we all celebrated together.  They all blew out the candles together, etc.  

So...bottom line.  Just cause Friday is the actual date of your birthday, you can celebrate the event anytime you want.  Sorry that the plans have fallen through all the way around, but hopefully you will still be able to have a wonderful celebration at some point in the future.  Wish I could give you a big Ghoulie hug in person, but hopefully you can feel it in spirit.  

Thanks Kendra. I think it bothers me so much this year because it is a big birthday, and I already missed 1 celebration. I just hope I can get some wings this weekend, that's what I really want. I could eat some wings right now. Anyone up for delivery?

I worked half a day yesterday, I'll work the other half today. Tomorrow I'm off.

What's everyone doing this weekend?

Hubby and I are going to a play called "Bob" tomorrow night.  (It is said that Bob was born on Valentine’s Day in the bathroom of a White Castle Restaurant in Kentucky. It is said that Bob’s birth mother Helen had a particular loneliness on this holiday that only a certain greasy cuisine could soothe. Armed with nothing but unfailing optimism, Bob is the epic, fast-paced comedy of one man’s dream to be great. The greatness of Bob.)  Should be interesting.

Saturday nothing is planned.  I think maybe I will go swimming.

Sunday a retirement party for a friend.  She retired after 32 years of teaching.

Howdy! Finally got home at about 8:30 ish last night after 13 hours of driving. The vacation was great! I surely wish all of the Ghoulies could have been there.

I agree with Kendra. We will celebrate your big birthday the next time we see you. The date is the day you were born, the day you celebrate is optional and can be more than one day!

Hi guys! Sorry I've been MIA. My internet at home is down, so I haven't been able to do much online. Thank heavens for working at a hospital with free guest wifi, right?

Missing you all--hopefully Hubby has the wireless fixed tonight and I can be back to visit alot tomorrow.

It's sleeting

I came home to find that my Boss is having a huge crisis. His wife has had a breakdown and wants a divorce and he is just hanging on by a thread, taking care of his boys.

While I was gone, another friend lost her house, all her belongings and her puppies . This is a woman who already lost a son and her husband (she is just now 47).

Wow, how good do we all have it? I am going to do my best to not complain about a thing today.

I want to do something today. I've been couped up in the house for almost 2 weeks now, and I want to get out. They are calling for 5" of snow this afternoon and tonight, so I may go to the restaurant I wanted to go to with my family for dinner alone for lunch. I know I can't hike, I'm in no way ready for that yet, I just don't want to sit in the house all day by myself.

Going out for lunch is a great idea. Then you can throw snowballs at people and things this evening. I suggest 40 of them.
