Match, when are you going to succumb to the Donkey Overlord?

Whenever somebody sends me a Jolly Rancher and a Zima or whatever the hell it is I need to do to become a Donkai. I'm all about hazing rituals, especially those that involve alcohol.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone

Hit the Treadie just before lunch and did 12 miles at GA Pace with a couple of miles north of Marathon Goal Pace.

The gym had the air blasting away and it was coolish in the cardio room with no smoke or soot. (Air was very clear)

Lungs felt much better after my run

Plan on hitting the gym in the morning before heading out of town for the weekend on a planned trip.

Hi,

Im just writing a note here to get feedback regarding those people affected by the fires in California as Mother Nature is an unforeseen circumstance that we could not have planned for with this challenge.

They way I see it there are 3 groups:
- Those evacuated due to fire risk
- Those whose running is affected due to smoke in the air
- Those who are working as part of the fire fighting crew

I have some ideas on how we can address this but the key suggestions are:
- Let another team member or members pick up their mileage in the next 7 days (this only counts from miles run from today)
- Allow for goal reduction based on planned workouts for days affected due to fire fighting or evacuation (has to be a fair way to do this, if you committed 50 miles and have only run 10 miles to date dont try and tell me you were going to run 40mile in 7 days!!!)

Those affected by smoke can use the gym or elliptical or treadmill to meet their goal OR if you do not have access to these facilities the above will apply.

Please let me know via PM or in the team leaders thread anyone affected and what you want to do ASAP as the end of October is almost upon us.

Please stay safe
Cat

Yum!!!  I will eat them after my half mary this weekend (oh which by the way will put me at 100% of my goal)

4 miles on the dot in 37:02.  Could have run another 2 at that pace but decided I needed to up my mileage tomorrow if I'm going to try to fit in four runs this week.

I tried a pair of Brooks once, got about 200 miles or so and I literally could not run in them any more.  I tried, but within the first mile, it felt like someone was whacking my soles with a baseball bat.  I'm wearing Mizunos now, and haven't had any issues.

This isn't to say that I think Brooks are bad in any way.  They just don't work on my feet so well.  Shoes are personal things.

Too true. I was so relieved when I put the new ones on and felt like essentially they're the same shoe that I've been wearing even though they've made some changes.

I'm toying with trying these out too though I'm a little leery as these are for moderate to severe over-pronation while my current ones are designed for mild to moderate. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?

Hit the Treadie at the gym today and did 10 more miles.

My RPE is a bit lower than out on the road (As to be expected) so it is hard to figure out how many miles were at Goal Pace. (But I think at least 2 of them were at or a bit faster than GP)

Probably won't be around much over the next few days. (Planned Holiday Weekend) Oh, only 16 miles remaining to hit my goal for the month. (Should reach the goal this week)
