Who, me? I like fast cars, booze, and a good workout.

Trust me, I know how that can be.

College roomates had the cutest furball of a mutt. Sad day when they moved out.

Aight peeps.  Getting off of TAN for the rest of the day and won't be back till next week.

Everyone have a good weekend.  If you are racing, have fun.  If you are training, be safe.  And above all, stay cool.

Ciao.

Heard you were going to Spirit of Racine. True?

Well, it sucks because I can't get another one - landlord made me promise, no more pets. I don't have the time for a dog, but I DO want one around.

lvthgme - 2008-07-17 5:05 PM It's gonna storm here.  I canceled open gym...haven't done that all summer...I'mna go directly home after work.  Who DOES that?  Then I'mna make the spinach artichoke dip / veggies for tomorrow, and go to bed WITH A STORM brewing...I...can't...wait.

Ooohh...spinach artichoke dip. Swimming and running is looking less and less appealing this evening. But I at least have to run tonight.

Hmm...pitbulls, even a mix, make me wary. I've heard too many stories. My best friend from childhood got a pitbull mix of some kind when we were in jr high and she was living in Pittsfield, MA. The dog was great and then one day, it flipped out and bit someone. And not like a "hey, you have food and I'm going to try to take it" kind of thing. It was malicious. And this family ALWAYS had dogs and were very much dog people so it's not as if they mistreated it or anything. I just hear too many stories like that about pit bulls. Same with rottweilers. And I love me some big dogs.

Rut roh.

Some friends of ours had a full-blown pit bull and we used to wrestle with it and pull its ears and legs and stuff and it was the friendliest dog in the world. They do have a bit of a temper but most are trained well enough to not kill. It's the few bad apples out there that give them all a bad name.

Did you know labs are on the `most-dangerous dogs' list?

Ooh doggie talk!
I'm doggie-sitting both of Tom's dogs for the 2 weeks he's gone, so 3 dogs at my hizzie. It is a ZOOOOO! Very loud. Barking. Loud noises. The little border collie keeps getting shoved into the pond in my backyard playing with the big one. It's hilarious!

Haha, seriously? Because they might lick you to death?!

Honestly, the only way my parent's yellow lab would hurt anyone is from accidentally squashing them because he insists on putting all 95 lbs of himself ON TOP of you at all times.

Yeah Tom's big dog looked VERY pitt-ish when he was a baby. Everyone was convinced it was a Husky/Pitt Bull mix. He's grown out of some of that, but Tom read up on Pitts and how to train them - just in case he had some in him. Stuff like you never let them win at tug-of-war, etc.

Here are some older pics of them

Awww yes that's my yellow lab. She believes she's a lap dog. Though she can be mean when she wants and needs to be. She gets very focused at times.

Aww, at least I'm not the only one with doggie pics in my BT album.  My sister got a beagle mix from the pound this spring.  I met her last week, she's very cool.  I can tell that she's biding her time, luring them into a false sense of security before she breaks them in.  I can't wait.

Have you read Marley & Me, it's about a yellow lab.  Read it in one weekend 'cause it was so fabulous.

Hehe, so did our shepherd/lab mix. He was THE sweetest dog you could ever imagine and when he was younger, he would try to sit in our laps - but he was ginormous. He made a VERY good guard dog, but was not a threat to anyone who we allowed in our house or talked to on the street, etc. If it was clear that we did not consider that person a threat, he was totally fine. Was GREAT with kids and babies - they could sit on him, pull his ears and his tail, etc. He just sat there and let them. But I bet if someone attacked any of us, he would have ripped them to shreds.

The yellow lab, probably not so much
