No OWS today for me.  Hubby and I are in "Panic Mode" as my parents booked flights to come see us in July so I decided to stay homish (I did run with the dog) and help out with some house things. Sure it's 8 weeks away but we have LOTS to do.

Will try again tomorrow.

Oh and I GOT A JOB!!!!  Permanent JOB!  I am super, super happy

Way to go on the job! Great news!

I'm sure we could show her an assatar or two.  That would surely do the trick.  Plus it would be a nice gesture, since they won't be seeing any after the challenge is over and we beat them handily.

Hey Gals! Hope everyone had a good weekend! Had a fine tempo run this morning and hope to get in a pool swim later.

I have found a group to do some OWS sessions with, so I could up my goal for the month. Can I do that? Should I do it? I have no problem adding on a couple thousand more yards. Kind of new to this so I am not sure what the protocol is.

Let me know what y'all think!

Cheers!

You definitely CAN increase your goal. Should you? If it'll keep you motivated to swim, absolutely!

Keep up the good work!

I did 2850 on Saturday but hadn't updated the spreadsheet. I just did so we're even higher now, still beating the boys

Hey guys. I am so out of touch! I was literally gone all day yesterday for the century but I did swim Saturday. I have a swim heavy week this week as well since it's a rest week. I have an open water swim race this Saturday that I'm really looking forward to. I've never done that before so it should be really fun, plus it's in the Hudson River with that wicked current so I should log an impressive time

Good luck on your OWS race. I once heard something about a Fritos bag posting a pretty impressive "swim time" during the NYC triathlon.

I had a nice 1000 yd recovery week swim this morning.  I updated the spreadsheet.  I hope it worked.  I could have sworn I had put last weeks yardage in, but it wasn't there this morning.  I'm up to 6800 yards, or 68%.

Look out, boys! The girls are swimming past ya!

I just did my 11th swim of the month out of goal of 14.

I had a swim lesson with my coach and she took some very choppy video. It is pretty amazing to see myself.

Yesterday my 14 year old daughter and I did a sprint as relay..she swam/ran and I biked. We won female relays..okay we were the only ones but still. We were 3' faster than when I did it solo two years ago.  It was pretty cool Mom Daughter thing to do.

skrtrnr - 2009-05-17 2:14 PM did my first sprint tri today.

happy to report that i beat the 16 yr old boy that was assigned to my lane by 50 yards!!!!  LOL.

a most splendid day all around, w all the trimmings....cold temps, high winds, numb legs and feet, and fine finish (no hardware to speak of, but still a fine finish...)

do i get xtra swimming points for swimming in an outdoor pools w the temps in the 40s and high winds??

guess not, huh?  that would be an OWS.....

ah well.

at least  i beat a boy.

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE
stacieb

congrats Stacie! way to get your first tri completed...and successfully! YOU GO GIRL!

depends...sometimes the challenge moderator (Yanti in this case) will let you add the additional towards the girls total team amt...but sometimes not...depends on what Yanti decides! but it is ok to add if you want to add and not worry about the additional percentage! GREAT SWIMMING! and way to blow us all out of the water on your distance! YOU GO GIRL!

woo hoo! great job Kathy...way to grab that hardware...everyone must have gotten that memo that Kathy and her daughter were in the female relay race...and to not bother to race....they were all too scared to come out and race you two! haha

sure your daughter was tickled pink! bet she is looking for her next race, too!

From what I've read in her logs Yanti has family issues and may have gone back to Indonesia for a while. Not sure.
