tri808 - 2010-04-08 6:41 PM QOTD:

How much water do you drink per day.  Maybe break it down by how much during workouts, and how much just during the normal day.

Hmm, you know, I have no clue!  Does coffee and tea count as water?  I feel like I'm always drinking something, but it's not always water.  I have a 1/2 liter water bottle I use at the gym. . . I definitely drink at LEAST a 1/2 liter when I lift, but sometimes I refill the waterbottle, so sometimes it's a little more.  And I *think* I drink more when I'm running or biking than when I lift.  I would guess 2L total a day?  More if it's a long run/ride day.  More if coffee/tea counts.

Good point, Missy!  Does the X-large Dunkin Donuts coffee I'm drinking right now count?  I'm actually embarrased to say that there are probably some days that I don't drink ANY water (outside of my workout) until I sit down for dinner.  Then my wife gives me a strange look when I gulp down 3-4 tall glasses of ice water before I sit down.  I'm going to make a concerted effort to drink more... starting TODAY!

It helps that I keep a 1L water bottle on my desk at work, my coffee mug filled with coffee in the morning & tea in the afternoon, and the above-mentioned 1/2 L water bottle in my gym bag.  Plus whatever water I drink at meals!  I just drink to thirst, but I keep liquids always within easy reach of me!

Does beer count?

It should!

Speaking of beer, I think that's what I am having for lunch.  Smile

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-09 8:49 AM Here is a scary statistic - I am half way to my 2009 swim yardage in April 2010?????  Wonder why I was never a good swimmer -

Oooh, congrats!  I just checked my logs, and I've already logged in more running miles than I did of all last year (though I wasn't as good at logging last year).

Hehe, I haven't swum since my last tri in August Embarassed

Wow - I love the water.  If the pool was more convenient I would swim 7 days a week.  I just love the feeling of being in the water and how it just surrounds you!!!

Water is wonderful!  I find it very relaxing to immerse myself.  The part I don't like is the chemicals in the pool and the organisms in the open water.

Wow... you must reeeeeeeally enjoy the water... oh wait... you said oranisms. Embarassed

Sorry... it must be friday.

Oh, my...  I just spit my water out reading this!

I got my lunchtime run in... about 6 miles, give or take.  My Garmin was dead, so the distance is estimated.  Ran for an hour and kept it at a nice, steady pace.  The weather is spectacular... 60 degrees and sunny.  I wish I could go for about a 2 hour bike ride, but alas, someone must keep my family in the lap of luxury, so work takes precedent.

Back from my beer lunch and the local Biergarten...  I love days with no planned training!  Unfortunately, I have no idea how I'm going to make it through another hour of work.

Shoeless - 2010-04-09 10:22 AM Just checking in to tell you that I'm off to my race! The Grizzly Triathlon at the UofM in Missoula. It is the largest-attended pool-swim triathlon in North America. (Trivia I just found out this year.) They have 420 racers, swimming four people per lane (except Elite heats). Also, I had to sub at the schools the last two days. Fortunately it was rest week, so I only missed a mile run. And, organizing a triathlon would be great fun if someone didn't say, "You go ahead and do whatever you need to do, and we'll help you." Then when you do it, they say, "You should have talked to us about that first." Aaaaaaggggghhhh! Happy weekend!

Good Luck!

Legs weren't feeling it today...so I talked myself out of running at lunch...but right as I was about to call some coworkers to go to eat, I remembered I also have an ST goal...so I did that instead.  Feel much better about myself now...=)

Busy day at work for me.  I did stairs again this morning and a short trainer ride.

I'm hoping to get an ocean swim in tomorrow morning when I get off work.

My sinuses dislike chlorine.  I didn't get any water up my nose or anything, but my sinuses are irritated regardless.  Lots of big sneezes.
